It has been very quiet down on the ABG farm recently but there are now a couple of new projects, one wind (variable), one solar (fixed).
Long term investment (19 years) but (part) debenture sale on the SM at a profit has been easy (to date).

NOT impressed I haven't noticed excessive delays but this is not the fastest gun in the west. I think that there is plenty of time to invest in the 4 current projects.

Sure - it's just rather alarming (especially as a newbie) when you make a payment and it appears to have disappeared into the ether....if it was a bank transfer then it would be different. Anyway 2hrs later I got an email saying card payments can take a day to process, but they've now done mine. Still said zero on a couple of screens but allowed me to invest.

19 years is quite some time. Unless inflation linked any money must be heavily reduced over that sort of timescale?

Hi Pom, thanks for giving us a try. Apologies for any alarm caused by the delay in reconciling your debt card payment, you will be glad to hear that in 4-6 weeks we will be releasing version 2.0 of our platform and this will allow instant reconciliation of debt card payments. If you have any other comments please do not hesitate to feedback to us. With best wishes, Karl

19 years is quite some time. Unless inflation linked any money must be heavily reduced over that sort of timescale? Hi Jonah, The debentures listed on Abundance pay back capital in equal instalments across the investment term which helps reduce risk in terms of inflation exposure. In addition a core characteristic of all debentures listed on Abundance is that the return is paid on the initial sum invested, because capital is repaid each year this means that the interest rate on your outstanding capital increases each year. To see the actual cashflows and changes in yearly interest rates perhaps take a look at one of the project calculators on our website (see link below): www.abundancegeneration.com/projects/#!/4169782/calculator The increase in interest rate means that the project interest rate reaches double figures during the second half of a typical debenture term this also offers some protection from inflation, specifically the reaction of the Bank of England to increased inflation which would be to increase interest rates. In addition different debenture structures give different types of exposure to / protection against inflation. The projects we focus on within the context of renewable energy sell their power under the Government's Feed in Tariff regime. Under the Feed in Tariff the price of the energy is fixed but increases annualy in line with inflation. The Variable Return Debenture structure which is being used on one of our current projects Distgen Hinton, returns to debenture holders a percentage of the project’s operating surplus. Assuming that the project generates energy in line with forecast the operating surplus should track inflation over time. To fully understand the risks around inflation however please read the Offer Document for an individual project. On the term period we operate a secondary market which though still small (most people buy the debentures to hold) is proving to be liquid. The average sale time currently stands at 8 days with the average sale price at 4.6% above par. Larger sales can be expected to take longer than the average and if you need to sell in a hurry you may also get a lower sale price. I hope that helps Best wishes, Karl
