Not much happening at the moment, but looking at the account in another way I noted that, while I have the idea that I pay FC a 1% fee for their services and 0.25% to sell, in fact they pay me to lend. These promotions mean that overall FC have paid me twice as much as I have paid them. In fact I find that averaged over my membership of nearly three years they have paid me, the net of fees and promotions, over £1,000 pa for the privilege of organising my lending.
I note that they lost £10M last year, my contribution to that being small, but there are many lenders. I wonder if other forum members are in the same position and whether we should be seeing Father Christmas, our benefactor, in a rather different light?

I guess they are also paying me.....but given I see the cashback offers as boosting otherwise rubbish rates on the property loans into acceptability that I wouldn't otherwise touch I'm not so sure it really counts!

To slightly dampen you elation, think of it as you've earned c£1k p/a for providing and underwriter service, how much time have you spent as an elf to achieve that? What hourly rate does it equate to? Just a month shy of 2 yrs for me and my promotions figure is almost exactly 3X my fees figure (just over £1700 p/a ~ £32 p/w) which at minimum wage, I have a maximum time allowance of 4.9 hrs per week. I think I've spent more time than that on Feeling Cheated, so thanks for the positive thought for the day but it didn't last long when up against my over bearing pessimism. Cheer up, pepperpot and pom! Of course the time spent is not paid for, but I have this arrangement where people put sufficient cash into my bank account every month and all I have to do is to stay alive and find ways to amuse myself. I am trying to embrace leisure and to avoid guilt associated with 'wasted time'. I am sure that Fiddling Ceaselessly is helping me with that - and paying me.
