My Net Earnings says £125.92
My summary says Lent: £10,078.78 Available Funds: £9.11 = £10087.89
Subtracting my initial £10K investment that comes to £87.89
So why the £38.03 gap?

Email Faulty Calculations and they'll find and correct the offending duplicated / failed transaction. Happens regularly I'm afraid.

Search the forum for "reconciliation errors" or similar, there were several whole threads on it, and even a poll as to how much people were over/under by (several thousand in some cases iirc)

Yeah it happens a lot but to be fair my balance is mostly right and when it's been wrong they've been quick to fix it. I would let them know ASAP and it will be easier for them to correct; especially if you know roughly when the figures first looked out of sync.

To go back to the original question; knowing Fisty Cuffs, none of them.

Just be grateful that the difference is only £38.03. Last time I checked the difference on my account was over £8k, thankfully in my favour. I believe (from i'm told by FC) that the earnings figure is correct and the cash balance wrong due to double sales/purchases etc. Apparently they are undertaking a major overhaul that should eliminate the issue that currently has be resolved manually. It will definitely make me more comfortable once I can reconcile my balances on a daily basis (my account hasn't reconciled in 2 years and the difference has varied from £100 to £8k).

Have you tried withdrawing the 8k?

If you close the account and take the £8k knowing that it does not belong to you and with the intention of keeping it, that's probably theft. If you lend the £8k through FC rather than holding it in available funds for FC to recover - that's fine by me.

It reminds me of Monopoly and the Chance card - "There has been a bank error in your favour, collect £20" Maybe in the latest version of Monopoly it should say, "There has been a Facile Calculation error in your favour, collect £8000."

I boggle at the balances and amount of transactions that must be involved to get to an EIGHT GRAND error...
Are you particularly height-advantaged, Nick?

Or perhaps "A new assessment has shown that you have been overpaid £8,000 in tax credits and you must repay it immediately'. For the avoidance of doubt about my comments, Nick has not made any claim to the £8k and just wishes, AIUI, FC to manage the account accurately - as do I. I hope Nick has a bot, or the clicking fingers will be worn to stumps.

They still haven't corrected the errors I told them about last year. Never mind, I have used that £100 for trading - just lent it out again!
I may repeat the survey just to see if things have moved on in the last 6 months!

I asked FC the same question and was told that they always take the cash balance as calculated via the earnings figures etc and not the cash balance reported when reviewing withdrawal requests, so no don't imagine they would let me get my hands on the dosh. However, they do let me invest it and my "cash" balance is generally below £8k so they let me earn interest off their error . I'm just waiting for the day my account goes into overdraft when (if) they ever reconcile the account.....

They would say that, wouldn't they? I think there are some weasel words there in 'reviewing withdrawal requests'. The system I believe allows you to withdraw what is in the 'available funds', and I think that if all was sold and emptied then any excess funds could be withdrawn. 'Reviewing' is probably a process after the event (reconciliation) which may or may not happen - though I expect they have Nick under surveillance.
