Small series of updates are now live. The most visible of these are that you can now see your queue position against your pre-bids. On the loan details page this is shown against each pre-bid with a queue position and the total value of all the pre-bids ahead of you in the queue. This information is also on the my account page in the "Your Prebids" section, along with an additional column that shows the total value of funded pre-bids ahead of you in the queue. (e.g. if someone pre-bids £100 but only has £50 in their account then they are not counted in this total). This figure is cached to a degree, updating every 2 minutes. Whilst only 0.5 seconds to calculate currently I can see that growing a little bit as the site grows so we didn't feel it wise to keep it a live figure on every page view. So it dynamically updates when bids are added (using a different method of calculation to keep this speedy) and deleted but with no activity will update every 2 minutes.
We've also introduced a new style of tool tip with a little question mark next to some column headings. Hold the mouse pointer over those and help text is displayed. These will be expanded over time to cover more of the site, hopefully without having to cover the entire screen with them!
Auction IDs are now displayed next to each loan on the main listings and loan details page. This is mainly for your benefit on the forum to make it easier to reference which loan it is you're talking about. The numbers are sequential when they're created but don't count on them being sequential when released on to the site as loans will have been in the pipeline for varying lengths of time, etc. Sometimes auctions won't make it as far as the live site so some numbers could end up being skipped. Hopefully no one will get too OCD about it!
There have been some further small tweaks behind the scenes but these are the main ones to inform you about.

Is there a problem with the “Go Cardless” function? I attempted to transfer funds a few minutes ago and got “page cannot be displayed” a la FC.

Just put a trial through and it worked fine for me... Possibly a temporary blip in their service?

The most visible of these are that you can now see your queue position against your pre-bids. Yep, I was first to bid on Liverpool! WOOT - I hope!

Chris - I'm getting an odd screen when logging into my account on an iPad. Some screens are ok, but, amongst others, the My Account page is squeezing itself up so that it all fits on one page. Normally you scroll down obviously, but it is fitting itself all onto one screen down the left hand side with tiny print. Only happened since the update so am assuming the two are connected?

Actually, I'm also fairly high on some of the other auctions ... Help! I've become an Assetzaholic! Out of curiosity I just worked it out. Of all those that currently have prebids in more than one auction you are currently number 2 in our all time fastest finger list! However as your average is over 4 loans whereas the only person faster than you has prebids in just 2 loans, I personally think you are the moral victor. Especially as your average queue position is 20 vs theirs being 19.5. pepperpot holds 4th place on the list with an average of 27. We have a very close battle for 6th place between bugs4me and phlitb with average positions of 37.5 and 38 respectively.

Please note there will be a brief server maintenance period on Monday morning from 10 until 10:30 at the latest (but targeting much shorter) whilst we upgrade our database software to the latest version.

Okay, thanks for the heads up. We can recreate this and are working on a solution. We've tracked this down to being caused by the tool tip library we were using on the little question marks. That means we've had to disable them so that we can work on a fix first thing on Monday.

Thanks for the updates. The auction number (instead of a great long A1234567890 string) is also more user friendly. And the main descriptions of the loans is much more space saving now. Thanks! Also -- I note that clicking on the name of the loan (in the summary of my loan units) takes you to the loan (I always fell for that in the past, click on the name of the loan, get shown a breakdown of my units!) -- that's also a handy little tweak. Can I just point out, "Outstanding Captial" on the summary page, it's bugging me now I've noticed it. All looking better with each iteration!

Here I was thinking you were all snowed under with a huge workload, and yet I find you've got loads of time spare to play around with meaningless things like this. *Note to self, only 4th, pull your finger out lad*
