chris: FP stopped working again ?? Payment made early evening yesterday, not in my account yet. No, the system is running fine and last checked with the bank 3 minutes ago. Was it at 7:10 last night for £1.2k? If so you put the wrong reference code in (typed with spaces in it) so it failed to automatically match to your account.

Some change, or the move from manual to automatic has led to this being picked up ? We've always required the reference code to be entered exactly as it is on screen (no spaces). I think the reason you're noticing it now is that previously someone would manually check after having run the import and then manually match any mistypes or errors. In this case they still check once or twice a day during office hours but you won't benefit from the automatic matching.

The strange thing is I would have cut and pasted that reference from something from AC originally; I wouldn't have manually entered it or introduced spaces. But since it was set up some considerable time ago now lost in the dim and distant.

Perhaps to save admin time repeatedly manually checking the same "incorrect" reference (that is actually recognisable and works), the system could keep track of previously-seen unique and unambiguous but "incorrect" reference codes, and which account the admin determined that it really should have gone to, and use that table for subsequent automatic matching?

The admins now have this facility as part of the new faster payments integration, so they have that option for repeat offenders.

BTW thanks for the 'tip': I've just received paying in details for a new account and they have sent me a payment reference with, you guessed it, a couple of spaces in. Just like ACs. So my trial transfer has excluded the spaces. I hope they treat the same way you do, otherwise I could find it not being credited for the opposite reason.

Worked well for me , much quicker. Good to hear. Typically funds will clear between the hour and five past, e.g. 1pm and 1:05pm. That's 24 hours per day 7 days a week.

Could someone check the FP hamster hasn't gone walkabout please?
I transferred some funds (£250) to AC a few hours ago using my saved payment details but they haven't yet been credited to my account.
Cheers
EDIT - Thanks, it turned up at 17:16

How's the hamster chris ? Made a FP deposit just after 09:00 and still not showing on my Dashboard! Barclays reset our password locking us out of the data feed (perhaps part of their intrusion detection system) and they're in the process of resetting it again so that they can tell us what it is. As soon as the feed is back up we'll be able to bring everything back up to date. Should be later today.

All fixed and payment processing should have now caught up for all payments that can be automatically processed.

Does the Faster Payment system only work on deposits? Withdrawal request made yesterday but money still not in my Bank Account. With MT, SS, W the system operates for deposits and withdrawals. Withdrawals are managed as a manual process, as opposed to the automatic deposit process, so I imagine your funds will arrive (by Faster Payments) sometime today.
