Q &A for loan 45
Question - Is there anything Assetz can do to increase the liquidity in this loan please? There is not a great amount for sale given it's total size - can you not convince some of the original underwriters to take a position allowing those who wish to sell to get out?
Answer - No

They killed the liquidity when they overstated the buffer then suspended it for weeks before acknowledging it should be tradable after all, who was ever going to be left to buy it after that performance?? Personally I am happy with my significant position, obviously a new tenant would help but I don't expect any (more) nasty surprises. Making it eligible for the GBBA would solve the problem but I believe they also ruled that out, so just sit tight is pretty much your only option.

Before P2P, savers put a guinea in a piggy bank, now they smash the banks to become guinea pigs.

I agree, but AC could have said "liquidity should increase when the discounting process returns". Of course, that was planned months ago and still waiting.

Quite interesting looking at how the tradeable distressed loans have fared. The two with buffer issues have considerable availibility, the one with no security at all effectively (ET) hasnt, Aber was always unlikely to be an issue, too early to tell on the big whirlygig as only just unleashed. Not expecting much movement from CC tomorrow, EBL doesnt really count. Ouside of GBBA SM is pretty slow anyway, that said nothing much I havent got enough of anyway. Need some of the pipeline to stop going backwards.

When I saw this Q/A this morning my view was it just typified the lack of thought given to how some of AC's answers will be perceived. Are they're cutting employment costs?

The answer was actually "No, this loan is tradeable in line with all other tradeable loans on the pla[t]form." Seems eminently reasonable to me.

I agree, but AC could have said "liquidity should increase when the discounting process returns". This loan is showing no parts available right now, presumably due to the trading suspension imposed because of the issues with the recent website changes. When those are sorted and trading resumes, it will be interesting to see what level of discounts lenders are willing to offer in order to offload their parts.
