But I note that currently FC are currently being criticised for not catering to the "29%", and SS are being criticised for catering to their larger investors. Most changes on any platform will elicit criticism, because they typically won't benefit everyone.

I think SS get the message.
Any method of allocating portions of loans will elicit GRUMBLES from some people (par for the course). To specifically state how they will be doing it (information which led to investors setting their requirements), then within a few days NOT DOING IT, elicits FURY from many.
Might as well leave it now.
I wonder when China will have its next wobble; time to scrutise the equity offerings again?

everyone got something which is an improvement on the previous server meltdowns That has got to be better than the big hitters, be it individuals or institutions, getting most of the loan They are essentially victims of their own success with demand currently overwhelming supply, which is a sign of them getting most things right. They are promising a healthy loan pipeline & a more balanced distribution of the scarce supply so before anyone posts hysterical tantrums take a breath & judge them against their other competitors, everyone is free to move elsewhere if they are unhappy with the current offering. Spot on.

Spot on. I prefer sober analysis to tantrums, so you can't be referring to me. My view is that an algorithm which allocates only 39% of the amount requested to all investors is clearly sub-optimal, and can be improved upon. AC, MT, FS and FC all have fairer algorithms, imho.

We thought SS had a fairer algorithm... Yeah, it did, until it bottled out of using the new system at the last minute after doing the sums and realizing that the big boys were only going to get a very small proportion of what they wanted.

I disagree, I think that the system they used is fairer than the one they said they were going to. The downside is that it may well encourage people to try to play the system and prefund more than they intend to invest. The scale of this behaviour will determine whether this is a problem or not.
However, changing things without notice has me quite uneasy and I'm unsure how I feel about it really. I appreciate that nobody is worse off in this case (sure, some people invested less than they hoped, but nobody can claim to have been hard done by IMO), but it worries me that SS don't see fit to inform people of changes beforehand.
And I'm very much a small-time investor, just to be clear.

Anybody notice the 35k (min) worth of this loan on the market today?
The activity page has a load of transactions dated today and the sums dont correspond to sums that would have been allocated under the model yesterday.

Yes, there were at least two large lumps put in around 9 - 9.30am. I saw a second lump of about 17 - 20k go on the SM at that time.

Here are the last 18 copied a moment ago. Several people got more than one chunk. I have PF switched on and have a balance in my account but I did not get any today. If anyone on this forum is in the list shown below perhaps they could say what it was that they did. If these were all bought on the SM I assume that they are the result of people setting their PF too high and getting more than they wanted.

When I logged in this morning on my mobile I was just in time to see a load being snapped up. Then almost immediately I saw there was another £17k + available, and managed to grab a bit of it. It didn't last long! Edit: Sorry ilmoro, by the time I'd grabbed a bit it had all gone!

I'm strongly suspect that Pre-Funding limits only come into play with new loan launches and that picking up SM parts remains an entirely manual operation. I think SS is still some distance from an Assetz-style "target holding" capability...

This was simply a case of seeing stuff on the SM and buying it manually. A bit fortunate really as I had PF switched off so didn't get a chunk initially.
