a) You'd have perpetrated a fraud, whilst ... b) To open the "bogus" account, you'd have had to verify your identity and address ... Fraud I agree.
It's a while since I opened my account. Do SS check identity carefully? I would imagine it's pretty easy to create a believable bogus identity online.
My feeling is that the given mobile phone number is the only half decent protection against this. You have to provide the phone number for the access code to log in the first time on a new computer.
Simply buy a pay-as-you-go sim card?

I was just following through the logic. I couldn't quite believe what I was being told. Better be careful not to entice though: clause 14.2.15 We may end your membership of Saving Stream at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to: if you use the Saving Stream platform or any information accessible on or obtained from it for the purpose of canvassing or soliciting any person or enticing any person away from Saving Stream.

Sorry, I must have glazed over briefly when reading the Ts & Cs. For some reason this beautifully crafted paragraph completely slipped my mind.

just to digress back to the security here, 2 weeks ago SS said Had an offer to refinance in full from the borrower, also received offers to purchase from our agents
What agents, what offers? SS havent defaulted the loan or appointed a receiver and I cant find it on the market anywhere, so how come theyve placed it with seemingly invisible 'agents' who dont seem to be marketing it

So I would recommend that you ask them directly and see what they say. And while you're asking questions, you might also ask about the deadline they're working to (as stated in the same update you quoted from). Not that I expect you'll get any useful answers. Last week I asked SS to explain a phrase they used in one of their updates. Four days later, the reply I received from George didn't answer my question -- it simply repeated the phrase I had asked SS to explain!

SS do online identity verification, e.g. (probably through an agency) electoral roll check, bank account, just to see if it a valid one not that it is linked to you, "soft" credit agency check, "Mr A of ABC Street XYZ town has a creit history, not what it is, etc. All of that can be performed instantly without you being aware it has been undertaken. If they cannot verify you in this way they will ask you to provide documentation. These are basic requirements that have to be performed under the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations. The actual attempt to get SS (or someone else) to take over your loan part by this method is clearly in contravention of s.2 of the Fraud Act 2006 Fraud by false representation (1)A person is in breach of this section if he— (a)dishonestly makes a false representation, and (b)intends, by making the representation— (i)to make a gain for himself or another, or (ii) to cause loss to another or to expose another to a risk of loss.

All those who think Boris made a gaffe are just displaying their own ignorance. Titanic means "like Titan" (google Titan if you don't know who they were). The ill fated ship was named after the Titans because they were powerful. The fact that the ship sank does not alter the status of Titans. So titanic means, roughly, powerful.

I fully agree with you.
Here's what the oracle (at least google) says:
adjective: titanic
of exceptional strength, size, or power. "a series of titanic explosions"
synonyms: colossal, gigantic, monumental, massive, enormous, terrific, tremendous, fantastic, towering, immense, vast, cosmic, giant, mammoth, elephantine, gargantuan, prodigious, huge, very large, great, substantial, mighty, Herculean...

SS updates are well overdue on both PBL056/064 not least due to the potential shortfalls
the last 064 update stated...Had an offer to refinance in full from the borrower, also received offers to purchase from our agents
the latter which is clearly ambiguous when the loan has not been defaulted and receivers have not been appointed

Had an offer to refinance in full from the borrower, also received offers to purchase from our agents. (*We are talking with the borrower and working to a deadline.) (*My addition/OGrumpy)
the latter which is clearly ambiguous when the loan has not been defaulted and receivers have not been appointed How very strange. That update has gone now and been replaced with The borrower is repaying the loan in full (advised by his solicitors). Currently in legals with other lender. This is the second case recently where SS have deleted an update and replaced it with another supposedly dated the same (in this case the "month ago" actually means 2016-10-21 13:59:29)
* It seems there is at least one more.
savingstream Why are you deleting existing updates? This practice prevents lenders from assessing the progress you are making (or not making) over time with managing their investments via your platform. This smacks of concealment.

No doubt our borrowers 'legals' are uneffected by the striking off for dishonesty of a longstanding partner & prominent agricultural lawyer this week. (subselling - who'd have thunk it)
