Whats the significance of Sept 9th.......Have i missed something? The borrower's long term friendly (to him) solicitor has been enjoying a nine month "holiday" from work. It started as "retirement" last year but the big wigs decided he should only have a "holiday".

'working on a potential consensual settlement with the borrower' sounds dreamy

"Whilst possession hearing remains listed to be heard on 25th August 2017, the LPA receiver is concurrently working on a potential consensual settlement with the borrower." My solicitor is on holiday until September 9th and on his return a consensual settlement can be dodged discussed with the LPA.

If someone's in jail, we can say so, can't we? Public Domain and all that jazz.

I suppose so... and name him too (?) .... he isn't the borrower .... and anyway he wasn't in jail .... just struck off .... then reprieved (partly).

Cooling_dude, I am not in this loan but I concur wholeheartedly, for the integrity of the platform and sanity if not confidence of the lenders an example needs to be made. It will also reduce future stress and cost on LY.

"LY should deal with DP appropriately to show other borrowers that they are not an easy touch"
It is far too late for that? The numbers just don't add up.
This borrower and his dubious solicitor have run rings around everyone that their nefarious dealings have contaminated and/or ruined.
Lendy are amateurs compared to this lot.

Whichever way you look at this it looks like the borrower is going to walk of with about £1M of our money.

This borrower and his associates are experts in this field. Even big powerful banks with big financial power and huge staff numbers have come out 2nd best from dealings with them.
To suggest LY can match them is, I fear, wishful thinking. To suggest LY can get a good outcome here is, I fear, pie in the sky. My advice would be to take any offer available ( the "consensual settlement with the borrower" option) to cut the losses and then walk away, chastened and having learnt a lesson the hard way. Otherwise the matter could drag on for months/years and legal costs will go through the roof.
However I am doubtful whether any sort of consensual settlement will be available as this outfit have a tendency to continue stalling, raising legal issues and going through the Courts arguing legal technicalities until they have ground their opponents into the dust and walked away the winners.

c'mon now - it's the most profitable p2p platform in the universe versus a potless shyster slam dunk for the boat boys innit
it can only be the extraordinarily generous nature of Ly that the tin shed (and flying pig farm) haven't been sold to the swarms of interested parties yet
