Just to prove that not all E's are toxic. Today an E borrower has returned for a loan 6 times as large, longer duration and has now been classed as a B !!! Not sure I would want it at 10% but shows at 18% it offered value. Or as a cynic is it just the case of what a lot of people are saying that a lot of the new loans are just D's & E's disguised as A's & B's ?

25450 for £78,960. Four minutes in and 40% filled.
Edit - 8 minutes and filled, drawn down and gone.
Another edit - 11 minutes and 135 parts up for sale at +1.0%. Someone's got a busy bot!

So very sad that FC allow encourage this ultra short-term speculative profiteering at the expense of ordinary investors. Really makes me want to throw sell up and get out.

Like most things there are two sides, yes it would be nice to be able to buy large chunks of E loans at the listing but as that is not possible and will still not be possible if too heavy restrictions were made on the initial listing. I am happy to pay a premium (rarely more than 1%) to be able to have the time for DD and then buy large amounts of the loans I like. So for me the current system kind of works.

it would be so easy to introduce CAPTCHA or something similar to prevent BOTS - even British Airways frequently ask me to confirm that I'm not a BOT when I try to price up a flight with them. Why won't FC act to stop something that irritates so many? E loans would still fill very quickly, but perhaps not within minutes as they currently do

Not only are Ds and Es pretty much a lost cause for ordinary investors to now buy on the PM, but small Bs are now selling out in about 10 to 15 minutes! So the choice seems to be (a) living with the paltry returns of A and A+, (b) pay premiums on the SM, or (c) become a computer programmer and write a bot.

In all honesty I would say that a fair number of the people who complain about the usage of bots would quite happily be doing exactly the same thing if they knew how to - I certainly would. As it happens the 'paltry' rates available on other bands (which lest we forget come with much lower default rates) are still a lot higher than we'd be getting on traditional savings accounts. So, even though I do understand the 'If I hadn't seen such riches I could live with being poor' attitude, maybe instead of complaining that we're only catching trout whilst other people are catching salmon we should just be happy content that we're not still just catching sticklebacks.

Salmon are over-rated, trout are better - especially a delicious sea trout. I only want to cast my line for a fish or two for my dinner, but I find the water already emptied by someone using a net. Outlaw the nets!
