We have a different one coming through this week. Slightly larger but in the same vein.
Apologies on the NWB one, we were in the hands of a third party.

Out of your hands Andrew but I'd bet a pound of oldgrumpies bananas that it was a fishing expedition to use as leverage with another lower cost lender.

Out of your hands Andrew but I'd bet a pound of oldgrumpies bananas that it was a fishing expedition to use as leverage with another lower cost lender. The words in the email I received from AC were... I took the inclusion of "for the time being" to be a suggestion that the loan opportunity wasn't completely dead. Am I being unreasonably optimistic? (That would be totally out of character for me!) Or am I simply failing to take the hint, and that the words really were intended to be translated as "Forget about this one!" and AC were just trying to let their lenders down gently? Personally, I prefer a "tell it like it is" approach. There's a lot less scope for people to feel misled.

I don't think being unreasonably optimistic is accurate - just optimistic will suffice When relatively straightforward questions are unanswered then I always smell a rat of sorts. Now maybe that's just me being pessimistic but once the loan is funded then really it's all systems go. Unless of course AC have found out certain items that were conveniently not disclosed or it was a fishing expedition on the part of the borrower - who knows? - certainly not me. Best to just forget it and move on IMO.

It's as dead as GBP in an independent Scotland. So I can take it that it is a bluff, you're bullying lenders and when it comes to the crunch the loan will be back

It's a dead as GBP in an independent Scotland. In that case, I'd suggest that AC give better guidance to those who write and approve the emails, as I'd consider the one I received to be misleading. I accept that it's unlikely any lender will have decided to do anything very differently as a result of the email, but I still prefer communications to be a clear as possible. Or should I say "transparent"?
