Does anyone else feel that the new app version released today unfortunately has so many useless features that there are too many to list!? Tho' I can't resist mentioning one: haven't seen a single loan id anywhere - just lots of similar loan titles.
The Fulsomely Chuffed email announcing this new version gave lots of space to the many ways in which the development team are pleased with their creation. This says it all. How about some users being asked for their views? Preferably before development starts.

I'm struggling to understand why I need a mobile app when I can quite happily access FC through the normal web page running Chrome on my phone or Safari on my iPad. Your post has persuaded me to redouble my efforts to ignore the new app! Only saving grace is that while Failed Computing's IT team are b*****ing up the app, they can't be b*****ing up the web site (.... or can they?).

The website is carefully designed to be SELF-B***ering, plus there are all the bugs left over from day1, that nobody dares to fix. One of the cardinal rules of FC is to never consult the users on anything, and if you accidentally do (like fixed rates) you have to wilfully misinterpret what they said.

I'm struggling to understand why I need a mobile app when... I wouldn't mind an app. But, of course, they haven't bothered developing for ALL mobile platforms, have they? Not even both of the main ones... Not even the biggest one, ...

Not even both of the main ones... Not even the biggest one, ... You're missing nothing. The new version is a triumph of cosmetics over functionality and borderline useless as a result. The old version was clunky but at least did the basics of showing you the new auction listings and letting you bid reasonably quickly (without logging you out every time you switch to another app).

The only advantage of the app (old version) on a phone was that it kept you logged in continuously, so you could quickly scan for newly listed auctions (early afternoon, say, or post-5pm) in a couple of seconds without having to log in again. In all other respects it was better using the website via Safari or Chrome.

On the web you don't have to log in to see the status of loan requests and any new ones (although admittedly you don't see all loan details on the auction pages and of course can't bid until you log in).
