What is the Tapatalk name for this forum?
i have tried the link on the front page which crashes Tapatalk every time.
i have tried searching within Tapatalk but without success.
i am on iPad and the app is installed of course.

Why is there a link to tapatalk on top page and no reference to this forum in the app? Really weird.

Simple answer - none of the admins had, until now, found the time to register our forum with tapatalk.
After an hour of struggling with their website (our logo had to be a certain size), I think we are now registered - they say "you should find your forum listed within 24-36 hours live in the app having completed the Directory Registration"

As always, nothing is straight forward.
Apparently we needed to be in ProBoards own directory first, which we now are ( as this search for 'p2p' shows ).
Then there is some auto synchronisation between the ProBoards directory and the Tapatalk directory every 24 hours ... which isn't working. I've raised a support ticket with Tapatalk, who have told me its not their problem, and to contact ProBoards.
In the meantime Tapatalk have released a new version of their app (for Android at anyrate) which is less easy to search for forums as they seem to be focussing on blogs and rss news feeds.
Ho hum ....

Would think very carefully before using crapatalk.
Other forums have had security issues with it.

Do you have any references to background info on this ? I still need to approach proboards re the tapatalk directory sync (been too busy this week to follow this up), and I could ask them to comment on security issues at the same time - they have deprecated their own mobile app in favour of tapatalk and have built this directory sync routine for tapatalk fairly recently.

I am a member of an invitation only forum, they have had issues with Tapatalk users being able to access the forum. Also, tapatalk allows messaging between members on forums, so if someone looked onto any forum with tapatalk (even if not a member) they could send a message to any member there who uses it.

Yes, any update? Each time I try to access the Forum using Chrome on my phone, it tells me I can use Tapatalk, but when I click the link, it opens Tapatalk which then tells me I cant access the forum.

Several hours were spent in January (by unpaid mods) but stalemate was the result with Tapatalk saying the problem is at Proboards end, and Proboards saying the problem is at Tapatalk's end. And neither were prepared to escalate the matter beyond front line customer service reps. No further action with this issue is planned for the time being. Sorry. Annoyingly when I open the forum in Firefox on my Android tablet, I sometimes get a banner up asking me if I want to open the forum in Tapatalk, which given the security concerns I always decline. Doesn't happen everytime though. Those that are interested in using Tapatalk and are not concerned about security type issues it might be worth researching this with google to see if its possible to bookmark the forum in such a way you always get the option to open it in Tapatalk. It is also worth noting that some of the functionality of the forum is missing from the mobile clients.

Thanks to a tip from a forum member, the Tapatalk banner I refered to in the previous post is actually called the "Tapatalk Smartbanner" and appears on Firefox (and I believe Chrome) browsers by virtue of a setting within this forum. We currently have "Enable Tapatalk Smartbanner" set to Yes, and the help text for that option explains:  |
