I've noticed that there are some AC advertisements now appearing on the board. Can I state we have not paid for any adverts on ProBoards but this seems to be a side effect of Google ads (you will see a g+1 logo in the bottom left of the ad) and cookies on your computer.
The forum is independent and I wouldn't pay for ads, however there is nothing I can do about Google's algorithm which generates these ads.

When the robots finally take us over I think we'll trace it all back to Google: being 'helpful' even when not invited.
Google+ has started enhancing my photos in the cloud and then boasting about it to me. All the more annoying because it does rather a good job of it!

I do think you can name sites where you don't want your ads to appear, certainly that used to be possible.
