I was a little surprised to read this on-line this evening when I got home; I managed to make a transfer via the HSBC mobile app earlier in the day not realising there had been any trouble. It only became apparent when I tried to log on via the website later on - and I read that it's been going on for days....HNY indeed! Don't they know the first rule is just to restart the server?!

Well it is up and running OK again. I managed to transfer some cash at 6.30 last evening and put through a couple of transactions this morning. Certainly ruffled my feathers. I circulate a fair bit of cash through my accounts on a daily basis and suddenly having the ability to keep it moving was shall we say 'problematical'.

It’s down again at 11:00 this morning.
Phoned the call centre and was advised that “maintenance and various upgrades are being carried out and the aim is to be back up and running by midnight”
If that is correct then it must rank as one of the most inane actions by IT goons ever, the last 2 weeks must have seen a reduced level of activity so why couldn’t the work have been carried out then?
But then of course we are talking IT where common sense and the concept of customer service do not appear to exist.

Yes I had exactly the same. I needed to transfer money to Bridging Crowd and couldn't login.
