It appears SS have provided us with a new accronym to play with. So BDM? Big Deal Monitor or have they taken up a suggestion on another board and hired one of oldgrumpy 's relatives to do recoveries Big Dangerous Monkey Traditionally "Business Development Manager" but may be more like "Bot Defence Minion" in this case.

Reminds me of where I used to work. We reorganised into "Business Units" to represent the differeing technologies and customer groups we worked with. We so very nearly ended up with "Business Unit Managers" until the abbreviation was written down. Instead we ended up with "Business Unit Directors" and then had to explain to our customer base that these were not real directors in a company sense but just managers and the customers still thought of them as "bums" And the staff tended to have a similar view to be honest.
Glad to be retired from the "continual business change must be good" world.

Development in Flood Location.
Seriously I hear about lots of fields that are 8 foot deep in water, yet have planning for housing developments.
Imagine if we funded such a development and it flooded part built, it would be a total write off.
PS I'm not suggesting this loan is being built on a flood plain, in fact I know nothing about this development, as no details yet.

Glad to be retired from the "continual business change must be good" world. Me too. Whilst waiting for somewhere decent to appear where I can place the rest of my pension pot, I've been arranging 30 years of same-as-last-time-with-a-different-acronym initiative freebies in chronological order.

If you can grow the loan book by 300% without compromising quality then we shall all be very happy (well, most of us at least!). However please retain your focus on quality over all else; nothing will undermine SS faster than a loan default that cannot be recovered from the underlying security. ... and the Provision Fund isn't big enough to cover the loss? Or the trustees of the PF decide the case shouldn't be supported?

If you look carefully at the picture of the DFL loan you will notice that the grass has a mixture of green and brown colours (at least on my screen). I think, that is a signal of lack of water, so no risk of flooding, at least for the moment.

Having just had a pootle around that location on Streetview the plot is raised ground sloping down to a major motorway and nowhere near any rivers so I think we should be OK. The pictures on that loan look like the real thing
