I believe that SS have made some good progress on both the new website functionality and pre-funding mechanism and that they have listened to and taken onboard many of the ideas generated by forum members. Other threads will continue to generate ideas in these areas (including the bots).
The area which is preventing me from being where I want to be with SS is effective, reliable and appropriate communications, so I thought I'd start a new thread to get feedback and hopefully some changes by SS.
We will all have different needs, but my specific goal is to stop loging-on many times a day just to see if anything has changed. What I need are some specific event driven communications alerting me to log-on (which other P2P sites do very well).
Given the different needs of investors, it may be that we each opt in or out by type?
SS also need to decide what they are doing with SMS (it's dried up) - personally email is best for me.
My initial list would be:
- "a new loan has been added or significantly amended on the pipeline"
- "a new document has been published on the pipeline"
- "we are hoping to put PBLxxx live tomorrow/this afternoon etc"
- "PBLxxx has just gone live"
- "updates (extensions, repayments, lender gone awol) on loans I have"
- "ditto, on loans which I don't have"
And finally, it would be good to have a regular weekly update summarising all of the above. Personally, I'd rather get a regular update without much to say than the current adhoc approach
Is this a common gripe, or is it just me?

I'd certainly like to be able to tailor the types of communications I get .. apart from the ones you (rightly) say are not available (or rarely show up), I'd like to be able to TURN OFF some of the ones telling me I bought / sold a loan part (I mean I know damn well I bought it .. didn't happen by accident .. and anyway the email doesn't actually tell me what it was I bought (PBL or loan number /name), just the amount). I also can't figure out how to change where these emails go (even if it means changing my login name) so I can file them away neatly.
So yeah, put me down for some more info too, IFF I can choose what to get, and where it goes.

But you still don't need the email, unless you want to ask for it. (Any sane bot will tell you what it is doing, or has done .. some of them even apologise afterwards, which is always faster than getting permission first). Do we suppose the 49p testing is all done now? Did it pass??
P.s. is it just me who gets two emails for each deposit made? Sadly I don't seem to get double credit though.

My understanding is that SS send one email to the lender and one to their BOT.
I get no emails because I don't get a chance to invest...

You can transfer money to SS whether or not you get a chance to invest it in anything .. a mistake I made a couple of weeks ago, before I figured out how the SM actually works. There isn't any reason to do so, but you can. 8>.

You could see if you got two copies too.
