I remember a discussion quite a while ago about the frequency of automatic logout. After a while the problem was fixed somehow, but for me at least, it is now happening again. Is this just me or is it happening to others too? If it is a widespread issue, an option to check a box to be kept logged in if not using a public computer would be much appreciated...

A keep online button seems like a good idea, but you have to remember that this is where people keep large amounts of money, so security & privacy is paramount. You wouldn’t see HSBC have such a button!
If you leave your page on the “available loans” it won't (or shouldn't) log you off. I always keep it open in a tab, readily accessible.

Just leave the available loans list open in a tab, it refreshes every 3/4 seconds so never logs you out. For the belt and braces approach, use a browser reload app to set to 15 minutes which then allows you to navigate away from said page. I've never had a problem with either. Setting it to reload every 5 seconds though might get your IP address blocked for looking like a bot. oops, crossed with above.
