Hi
When you click on the statistics page on the website, it show you the all time lending rate.
It has been around 7.0 of ages, but checked today and it's 7.6!
Do you know why the jump? Anything I should be wary of, or just be impressed?

Anything I should be wary of, or just be impressed? It doesn't make any sense to me for an all-time annualised lending rate to suddenly jump overnight. So I think there are 3 possibilities: 1) It has always been wrong but now they've put it right. 2) It was right but Faulty Calculations have changed something and made it wrong. 3) It was always wrong and still is wrong but in a different way to previously. My money is on (3)

You are probably right that it is wrong. But when you say wrong, do you mean wrong when compared with the number which should come out from Fiddled Calculations' method of calculation and formula? Or wrong compared with how most of us would calculate it - for example including the money tied up in bids? Because even Failed Computations get it right, it's still wrong.

Wrong as in an incorrect implementation of their published formulae which I think is a valid statistic even if a somewhat optimistic one.

My money is on (3) I'm guessing 2. The numbers were ok up until the day that the three unaccepted loans became trapped bids. Maybe the missing trapped bid money has been somehow added to the interest total. Who knows with Funny Calculations. The three loans were still showing a repayment schedule as well as zero funding. Also there was no reason given for not accepting the loans. This was a bit odd. We usually get some excuse. John

My individual all time annualized return notched up another 0.2% over night. It also went up by 0.2% last week despite being hit by a bad debt. I have been investing for three years and it cannot move that much legitimately.

My Annualised Return figure has now jumped again to 17.7% (versus 14.9% a week ago and 15.9% over the weekend). Fanciful Calculations clearly have a problem (or rather, an additional problem).

I'm up to 20% now (should be about 11%). Strange yesterday's trapped bids seem much smaller than those from Friday.

I suspect it was just a badly handled quill pen, you know how easy it is to make a 6 look like a 0...

My trapped bid money has found its way back into my account and the FC help page suggests that normality has returned.
My annualised return is still showing about 3.5% more than I think it should. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

My AR has gone 13.5% - 15.7% - 16.9% and has now just dropped back to 13.8%
The all-time average on the Stats page still shows 7.6%

My account reconciled about 14:00, but the AR didn't change until much later. I am back to 10.9%, now. I guess that it must display a cached value and update it every few hours.

Mine has just gone back to normal after a dizzy day or so. A.R. now 11%, not wildly exciting but I have managed to sustain it over several years.

My AR is back to normal today too. So everything's fine and dandy again. Until the next time.

There is a statement on the in-house forum that 7.6% was an error, and the correct rate is 7.0%.
