Yesterday I tried to withdraw £100 from the Green account.
I had 1980.28 total investment in Green (of which 0.05 was instantly available), and nothing in the cash account. After attempting to withdraw £100, the 5p was transferred to cash immediately, and £99.95 "awaiting withdrawal"
When I checked an hour later, my Green a/c had gone down to 1927.75 total investment with nothing awaiting withdrawal. My cash a/c went up to £52.49
So £52.53 came out of Green, £52.49 went in to cash. But I asked to withdraw £100 (This is actually the 2nd time this has happened but the first time I wasn't so careful to record the figures before and after)
What's going on? Why can't I withdraw the full £100

What's going on? Why can't I withdraw the full £100 GEIA is not an instant access account. In order for you to withdraw money, someone else has to buy your parts. I bought £11 overnight (which may nave gone to you) but it depends on the diversification rules so others may have 'buy' instructions but they are not eligible to buy your parts.

It's a long time since I withdrew almost everything from my GEIA, and things may have changed since, but I seem to recollect that the way I got around it was to cancel the instruction once it stalled and start a new one 'till I got the desired amount. Alternatively you could try selling more than you want and stopping it before it finishes, although perhaps a bit more risky and tiresome. Either way not very elegant!
My GEIA always seems to be irrationally losing (and sometimes re-gaining) a few pence (on the display at least) every time I look, but I've given up investigating.

Thanks Stevet - await fix then min- yes, but the point is it then shows nothing "awaiting withdrawal" so it doesn't go on to buy any more parts stardust - there's no instruction outstanding to cancel, as it thinks it's finished

I've reported it some time ago on a thread somewhere here... The error happened again just now so decided to go and refresh the thread, but found this one. And this one will do just fine. So polite question to chris or mark. Can you explain this behavior? Or better even, can you please fix it?

chris - any idea when this is going to be fixed? Today I tried to withdraw £500 - it only withdrew £261. Put in another request to withdraw a further £250 and it withdrew a further £174 so I'm still £65 short. Do I keep having to go back in and withdraw smaller and smaller amounts until I get there?!!

It does seem to be getting worse. I've been trying to get £20 interest out of my (otherwise empty) GBBA for a couple of days now. Each time I set a withdrawal request, it removes a bit and then gives up.

I personally have removed all investment from the Green and Business accounts. I did this for various reasons but includes the fact that if I want to move money it drips a number of transactions instead of selling enough loan parts, get the sum required and transfers the lot.
It might be nice to see all those decimal points, but for me, it makes things difficult to comprehend. I prefer simple things.

I'm still in the business one as I like the ease of it, do not have much in the green one as that never moved much when started so never really bothered with it

Outside of drawdowns only relatives small amounts seem to be available.

chris did you manage to have a look at this? I'm hoping to withdraw a fair sum from the GEIA over the next few weeks and I'm getting a bit twitchy about how easy or difficult it might be.
