Nice easy question people.....
How hard did you find the SM to invest in throughout this morning (17/02/2016)
Poll to close tonight -------------------
Edit after Poll ended
So it seems that after this very unscientific little test, the results are as follows;
After a large loan goes live, people think the following in regards to how easy they found it to invest on the secondary market;
53 % of people found it 'Ok' or better to invest in the SM 47 % of people found it 'Hard' or worse to invest in the SM
It seems the P2P community is split, which surprises me considering how easy I found it to invest in the SM on the morning of the 17th. However, I am only one of 85, and I respect the opinion of those who vote.
As the large loan go live in the near future, I'll run the poll again. Just to see if investors find it just as hard, or maybe easier to invest in the SM after a large loan goes live.

How did you find the SM this morning (17/02/2016)?
I logged in to SS and there it was
(Oh, I voted "OK" because now I know how to be ready for loan parts to appear, I do actually win ... just a few).

Bought and sold OK on a 2m connection.

Very hard. Long latency. Stupid captchas.
Stupid secondary market, where those who have an "edge" end up gaining complete dominance over those who don't.
And I have no axe to grind. I am in fact slightly reducing my six figure holding in SS...

Placed somewhere between 5 and 10 bids, was successful on 3 but from that point onwards, got the recaptchas everytime so it became impossible. I guess there must be some kind of frequency check (at around 10ish bids) whereby it assumes that you can't be a real person if all you're doing is sitting at the computer 10ish times ticking "I am not a robot" . Even after logging off and coming back an hour later, tried 3 times, got the recaptcha's. Perhaps I need to get a life

That's my experience anyway. I also get some limited success by switching browsers; in fact, I can go for quite a while on MS Edge with getting pictures for some reason.

Very easy compared with recent times. At least there's been something to have a go at even if captchas get in the way. And I've been multi-tasking with MT and my pension fund. And I've supposedly been doing some work as well

Bought and sold OK on a 2m connection. Likewise. Even got to my limit on P*ntyc***, which I've never ever seen on the SM before!

I did finally get a successful bid in mid-afternoon.

The question is strictly connected to what you wanted to achieve. of course the first few tries (without recatcha) were easier, but after a while you get continuos and more adn more aggressive image picking.
Not easy at all and I have not reached my target nor in terms of quantity nor in terms of loan spread (even though I centered the minimum I had in mind).
Of course days with activity are better than days with nothing at all!

I managed to get a few successful bids in, so long as I didn't get the street name question. Has anyone ever got that right?

I managed to get a few successful bids in, so long as I didn't get the street name question. Has anyone ever got that right? When you start getting the street signs, your all but stuffed; it's basically Google saying "your definitely a bot; solve this impossible task" . They usually only start to appear if you've been bidding on the SM consistently over a short period. Change browsers, or give it a rest for a couple of hours, and it should go back to normal pictures.

Stupid secondary market, where those who have an "edge" end up gaining complete dominance over those who don't. What "edge" did you have in mind? Mmm. Physical reflexes and/or technological, certainly, or even something underhand, perhaps. Yes, I've been building my holdings up for over a year, and done very well. Time for a re-evaluation. An unnecessary increase in the sum total of human aggravation gives me a bad vibe...
