I like the suggestion of limiting SM bid amounts to so much per a time limit (maybe something like £500 per 1,2 or 3 hours period in any given day rather than per 24 hours). The £500 amount per loan is reasonable so would the time frame for almost everyone except the very big hitters. Whilst I did vote on this poll, it will make zero difference unless SS deem it necessary to act on our collective wishes. They have always been perceptive of what goes on here but maybe it will hinder their progress via the big hitters? We don't really know as they are the only ones with access to the numbers Sounds like the perfect way to kill secondary market liquidity. I really don't think it would, especially if the time period were to be set in minutes rather than hours. There's clearly a lot of pent-up demand about, and all it would mean is that large chunks of loans offered for sale would be spread between a number of buyers rather than being 'winner take all' as it seems to be now. Actually, a 60 second pause between bids might be all it would take to allow the goodies to be spread much more widely.

So it seems that after this very unscientific little test, the results are as follows;
After a large loan goes live, people think the following in regards to how easy they found it to invest on the secondary market;
53 % of people found it 'Ok' or better to invest in the SM 47 % of people found it 'Hard' or worse to invest in the SM
It seems the P2P community is split, which surprises me considering how easy I found it to invest in the SM on the morning of the 17th. However, I am only one of 85, and I respect the opinion of those who voted.
As the large loan go live in the near future, I'll run the poll again. Just to see if investors find it just as hard or easier to invest in the SM after a large loan goes live.

I think people's answers will have been influenced by exactly when they tried to use the SM, as avaailability did vary from time to time. And while the question did refer to 'morning' they may have just answered for 'today'. Another big factor is whether or not you got Captcha free passes. It's a lot easier to buy successfully when you get a free pass compared to when you don't. Speaking of which... Someone suggested that the system resets at midnight and you get a few free passes after that. My experience has been a bit different, and I wonder whether the system clock might reset at different times for different people, as I certainly don't recall having any free passes shortly after midnight. Or maybe the reset -- if you get it at all -- comes at midnight Google time, whenever that might be.

ReCaptchas:
Did anyone experience that after buying late at night and starting to get pictures, the situation is not reset the following morning and you keep getting pictures?
(I hope the question is clear - cannot find better words.)

(I hope the question is clear - cannot find better words.) Just topped up on loan 78, 1st try to buy for over 20 hours, managed to correctly identify 2 ice creams & still got £400 out of the £900 that was available. Have had free passes before so I guess it is a bit more random than many suspected. It is difficult to win at popular times of the day or after long PM droughts but as has been said the only real answer is a rebalancing between overall supply & demand, SS are trying hard (& are doing a good job IMHO) but whether they can achieve that whilst still offering such market leading rates only time will tell.

Between 6am and 7am UK time (I'm 7 hours ahead) a ton of stuff on the SM. And just to wind you all up its my pool time here , 33 degrees, so was working on an iPad with Safari and still managed to make 3 purchases with captchas every time. It's all just the timing!!

Strangely people are still surprised that loan parts disappear in nano seconds on the SM during the hours of daylight in the UK, and yet as soon as night falls, you can fill your boots choosing what to have, taking things at your leisure. Now I wonder why that is........
