So, I've just signed my girlfriend up to SS (erm; she doesn't know yet.... it'll be a surprise... Please don't tell her  ) 6,459 Investors Before Signing Up 6,459 Investors After Signing Up Of course, the number of investors might be manually input by SS, making this test pointless... possibly unnecessarily upsetting my girlfriend in the process  I'll have a go at investing in the SM to see if the number changes later today. Edit: so since I wrote the above, the number of investors rose to 6,461; so I don't think it is being manually updated (on a Friday Night) |

Oh, lighten up  Investor, it was only a joke! I asked her, and she's fine; she was mooting signing up anyway; ready for when her dividends come through from work at the end of March. Anyway, I'll be fine. As long as they don't find the Marijuana farm in the basement.......

I think 6461 is the current number of registered investors ie the number of open accounts. This page has a graph of registered investors against time. The T+Cs state that accounts may be terminated by Saving Stream if there has been no activity in a 12 month period. If that condition has been enforced then the 6461 doesn't include too many dormant accounts. |

My RS account has been dormant for years, but hasn't been closed, so SS and RS's figures may not be like for like. SS may even start to catch the big boys.

Thanks for the link nohThat graph would indicate to me that the "number of investor" is in fact based on "current investors". The graph shows an equal rise with investors with the loan completion value, which I wouldn't think would be true if they included all the registered users.

So.... Some loans have appeared on the SM, and my girlfriend bought her first SM loan; a modest £1 in PBL40 6,461 Investors Just Before SM activity 6,462 Investors Just After SM activity Of course, it could be a coincidence; but I reloaded the page just before the SM investment, and then just after. I then put the investment back on to the SM, it sold and the Investor count is still 6,462 So I have come to the conclusion that the "number of investors" is in fact, the total amount of individuals that have ever invested in SS, and is not every investor that has registered (not invested) to SS |

Unfortunately I don't have a dog or a Bermuda bank account ..... but I do have a partner and a Ltd Company.
All 3 of us are investors with 3 different linked bank accounts. We will be counted as '3 investors' ..... but there is only ever one set of fingers on the keyboard.
