A quick (automated) ramble through the available loan stats causes me to believe there are fewer than 2000 'active SS investors' at the moment .. and some of those are probably man+partner+business+dog (possibly with mum and offspring too), so the published number is obviously a little high.
Addition:
fwiw the average investment (sum of investments, divided by sum of investors, over all loans) is £1350. Min investors is 60 investors in PBL37, for about £2.5k each on average. Other extreme is 1695 investors in PBL75, at less than £200 each.

Does anybody know how the "number of investor" is actually calculated? Is it the total amount of individuals that have signed up to the platform, or is it the total number of individuals that have invested in SS? Seems to be a vast difference between the number of people pre-funding (1600 from the last allocation) and the total amount of investors (6448). Upto 6496 now.

So it seems I could have saved a lot of speculation by just looking at SS facebook or twitter page...... So registered investors it is then.... I'm feeling rather silly right now . Anyway, I'm going to put my neck out and say that about 40% (taken from those TC stats, and assuming they relate closely to SS) of these registered investors, are active. So a guess that about 2600 of those registered investors are "active" investors.
