Why are large loan chunks popping up in the SM and disappearing in an instance? Soon as you click on they're gone. Because people are buying them very quickly. How they manage this is widely discussed in various threads on the SS board. "Search" is your friend People with deep pockets deal in large chunks !

No these are going in a second. They've gone as soon as you click on them unlike the average one where you may get several seconds.

People use a widely known trick to pre-qualify the Captcha when a tiny part appears for sale, but don't complete the purchase. They then wait until a bigger part is listed and instantly buy it.

Rather than simply waiting for the right loan part to come along, some will also undoubtedly be "arranged" transactions, where a buyer and a seller agree an exact time on which they'll co-ordinate their activities...
Some will perhaps even be the same person operating two browsers, or two devices!

I made 2 deposits this week end and none has appeared on my SS account. is this to be expected? Somebody said they'd done a payment run on Saturday morning I think, but if your deposit was after that I wouldn't expect it to be credited until after the bank holiday, probably sometime Tuesday (tomorrow) morning if your bank does faster payments.

They do payment run on Saturday indeed. I am outside of the UK so i was not aware of the bank holiday. everything is ok then.

I know this question has been asked and answered before but can't find where.
If I put up a loan part for sale and then wish to remove it from sale can I cancel it, and how?
Thanks

There's a little down arrow on loan line you can click as well

Do part loans for sale continue to attract interest until sold? I am not clear on this point; quite to sell a loan part is a new experience for me, and I suspect many other SS Investors.

No you do not get interest while your loan part is for sale. This is made clear to you when you go and sell your loan part...
