I have received and read the news email from Fredbare Castoffs today, and had no idea. FC gets the best returns, The figures and the pretty barchart prove it. 7+%* Roll on IF ISA . Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! (stop overusing ! marks Grumples!!) I wonder if FC is comparing like with like on this message. Maybe they could reveal that the other two (inferior) platforms which have formed part of the comparison are also SME business, and bridging-loan/building development lenders. i.e in the same sector of P2P lending. (Oviously they won't be the two largest providers of personal loans, rather than businesses, one of whom I invest in but achieve 6+%). Will they? I must look for those two major platforms who are only achieving 4.6-5% (so I can avoid them - I think I may well be 75% withdrawn already on one). Heads up from friends on the forums will be appreciated. Hey ho! Cup-of-tea-time. * My own "Annualised return (after fees and bad debts)" stands at 7.9% currently (I've never been a compulsive flipper) ... I have plenty of salt available. Attachments:

I thought it was usually curry time at Grump Towers at this hour on a Friday?

I think I need to go look up the definition of "major" again :/. Having written over £1bn ov loans. Or whatever other such number is required to get the right answer (i.e. "average return < FC's"). 8>.

Clearly the three 'large' platforms compared are:
RateSetter Zopa FundingCircle
Of course they accurately took off all the best asset-backed competition, which is the most interesting at present... FC-ISA will attract traditional High Street banks customers and they are actually using the same advertising methods...

Clearly the three 'large' platforms compared are: RateSetter Zopa FundingCircle Ooooh! Is that who it is ?
Fat lot of good Feeble Communicants sending that kind of misleading (so obviously comparing apples with pears, monkeys with meerkats etc) drivel to existing customers, especially those who have been making a controlled exit since fixed rates started, and who have already been sent an email (replied to) asking why!!! I look forward to a proper comparison of FC's record with other well known platforms dealing in purely SME/Property loans.
HOW ABOUT IT, FUNDING CIRCLE???
What a load of idiots FC marketing team must be!
(Mods, am I allowed to call people idiots now?)
PS I'm not really disgrumpled. My attention is totally focussed on other platforms these days, since FC decided fixed rates (well below most other platform's rates for similar risk, yet still charging a 1% lender's fee) were imposed, and the sharp change in risk band spread decisions simultaneously was applied, and nearly everything became A or A+ (How is the default rate going on those loans since the change - anyone know?).
Time for a cup of tea glass of single malt.

I wonder if Frightening Comparisons have ever heard the phrase "return OF your capital is far more important than return ON your capital". I cant imagine that aspect of P2P investing featuring in any FC marketing blurb any time soon.
I am still hoping one day I will actually see an Asset Purchase loan request on FC where they actually secured the asset being purchased, wouldn't that be a great idea!

There has been at least one genuine Asset Finance loan on FC. But their intention to diversify into that market seems to have drained away into the sands of time.

Damn I missed them....probably would have thought it was a Technical Error anyway and ignored it!

There were several for Tower cranes, construction pile drivers and floodlights at one point but they got superceded by CB property as a better opportunity I suspect.
