Hi everyone! I went to Bondora to post this message on the forum and realized it's gone! LOL!
So is this the new place for Bondora discussion?
Here's the deal... I have 1000 EUR available in the account from repayments. Why did this acculumate on the account? Because I could not find enough good Estonian loans to buy on the secondary market. My rule was Estonian-only and it was working out great with the old Portfolio Manager that let you pick the country. When they took away that ability I started buying on the secondary market but that takes up a lot of time for analysis that I do not have.
So now I am willing to give in and let 1000 EUR to be had by the robot AKA Portfolio Manager. What I am asking you is which one to pick and what settings to set for best results? Please post here and I'll post my results of what Bondora does with my 1000, how quickly it gets loaned out and actual loan numbers so we can analyze.
Thank you!

Bad idea. The PM will see that you have lots of good loans and that you are underweight on the others, so you can expect a large allocation of loans with poor prospects as it tries to move your investment mixture to get your returns down to the target return.

If you're keen on keeping your funds invested with Bondora, even with this 7 day overdues to DCA thing that will almost guarantee you a lower return on lower risk loans, then you can automate your picks with API. Build your own or use beeplus.me or some other service if there are any out yet. Lendtower was building something but haven't heard anything as of yet.

Dear James and Rahafoorum, Thank you for responding! James, I realize you say this is a bad idea, but what is a GOOD idea assuming that I am not withdrawing? I have invested with Bondora very early (year 2011) when it was IsePankur. I have not added any money or withdrawn any money. I was going to add 20K EURO when things were going well (in 2012 and 2013) but since the changes (cannot pick country in PM) I have decided not to. However, I have decided not to withdraw anything either. I am buying Estonian loans on the secondary market but cannot find enough to reinvest repayments. My criteria is: Estonian only; At least 7 payments history; Income/Expenses Verified; No late charges; Age 24-60 In that list look for XIRR 27%+ and no "debt notification letter" and if found, buy immediately if premium is reasonable. I am pretty sure this criteria is a good one but there are several problems... I don't have enough time to look for loans and don't have enough skills to use the API I don't know how to analyze data and historical performance of my loans. Cannot find enough loans that meet above criteria. This is the reason I was going to give PM a try. It's not good for repayments to just accumulate on the account, defeats the purpose. Rahafoorum, Tere! Aaitäh... I agree and also have this concern. However unfortunately I have no idea how to use the API. You might say "learn it" but I don't believe I have the "basic skills" required to learn it. I may be wrong but for now I have read about it and I don't understand it. I have no advanced math or programming skills and can only follow a system such as "log into Bondora, issue a search for criteria above, if any loans meet my criteria-buy it". Sorry if I sound too pessimistic but that's how I see it...at least I'm not ashamed to admit it.

That's why I suggested something like beeplus.me. You simply create your account, make the connection with your Bondora account and select the criteria you want to invest into and you're done.
Essentially these type of 3rd party tools create a Portfolio Manager with more options and eliminate any requirements for coding skills.

I am not suggesting beeplus is problematic (I just do not know) but using intermediaries: - can allow them to profit from your orders ( and those of other users) - their site could be hacked and you personal info abused

I don't think they get any access to personal info through API? Could be wrong though of course. They COULD make investments to some random loans on primary market in your name perhaps if they would gain access to it somehow, although not sure what that benefit would be. Unless they're themselves applying for a loan? Secondary Market is more prone to different such risks though of course.

Beeplus at least currently doesn't support SM and from at least the initial announcement, I think Bondora mentioned something about being able to give different levels of access, in short, you could not give access to SM. Not sure what they have actually built though, knowing how fast things can change there

OK, I'll give this beeplus a try! I have a few questions:
1) I signed up with them and get to the screen "Will you authorize BeePlus to do the following activities on your behalf:" Is this safe? Are they getting my username and password??
2) What settings do I set there for best results? The country is obviously Estonia, but what about Bondora Rating, Interest Rate, Verification Method? What interest rate justifies verification method of "unverified"?
3) My concern is that there are not enough good loans on the primary market? When I say good enough I mean high enough interest rate for good borrowers. So far to reinvest repayments I have been buying on the Secondary Market only.

ad 1) You don't give anybody your login data. You generate a token for making bids - so bondora's API works. Yes it is safe.
What are the best loans? Good question...

What interest rate justifies verification method of "unverified"? You're on your own on this one. Since Bondora Rating V2.0 was introduced in December (~4 months ago) only, and it changed how loans are priced quite significantly, then there's almost no good way to actually predict what will happen with any certain type of loans. I'd guess you're still ok by sticking with EST, although interest rates seem to have come down for practically everything.

Ok, since you guys said I am on my own on this one, I went in and configured the Rules to the best of my ability. I created 3 different rules: Rule "D":Estonia Bid amount 50-100 Age 28-60 Bondora Rating: DInterest 30% + Verification Type: By Phone, By other document, By bank statement (all except "Not Verified") Rule "E":Estonia Bid amount 50-100 Age 28-60 Bondora Rating: EInterest 33% + Verification Type: By Phone, By other document, By bank statement (all except "Not Verified") Rule "F":Estonia Bid amount 50-100 Age 28-60 Bondora Rating: FInterest 36% + Verification Type: By Phone, By other document, By bank statement (all except "Not Verified") The API hasn't caught anything so far Of course you might look at this and say it's unrealistic but hey you said I am on my own Reason I set interest the way I did is because I am looking at "Expected Return" and I need it to be at least 17% for this to make sense. P.S. Is there a more active Bondora forum now? I am not getting much of a response here...
