I have recently been getting pop ups to sky bet app when returning to a bookmark of this forum on my iPhone. Just now I was stuck in an annoying cycle of popular. Not happening any other website - am I the only one?

Probably this is related to the audio/video ads that I complained about in another thread. I am on a laptop. The audio used in these ads is extremely compressed and cranked up to the max. When they start the sound is extremely loud. I decided to install an ad-blocker and now I do not see any ads. I am not sure if there is anything similar for mobile phones.

i keep being asked if I want to download moatad.js - the problem could be related to this, as it would seem to be the modus operandi of this particular little bit of software. a google search should help with removal.
This problem only started today on this site, all info I have read is it that it comes form 3rd party adverts.
I am not on an iPhone though, using a pc.

Remember proboard's official stance on this: Once again we are shown that the website advertising industry simply cannot be trusted.
I hate this situation. I utterly hate it. I want to be able to use websites and support them, and not be a total leech to their resources. But this kind of shady stuff just makes that position impossible to resolve.
I either block ads, or I get popups, popunders, malware, or a recent golden one on MSN money; a banner ad to "the X method" (replace X with Aussie, British, Irish, whatever, it's all the same), which is a complete scam and very well known as well, yet the advertisers still allow it because it makes them money.
They are always "continuously reviewing" everything to ensure "best levels of quality" to deliver "relevant advertising", yet this only happens once they have taken payment and several thousands of people have either lost their money or been infected with some kind of drive-by malware. And that's not to mention that disgusting levels of tracking that you can't truly ever opt out of.
The industry is rotten to the core. Until something better comes along, we should all simply install ad-blockers and be done with it.
