Hi,
I needed access to funds from my FC account, and I've been told by support that « you will need to provide us with: PROOF OF ID. This can be either a photocopy of your passport or driving licence (must include photograph). AND PROOF OF ADDRESS. This can either be a photocopy of an original utility bill, tax bill or a bank statement », to get someone to certify the copy, and to send the lot by snail mail.
Is this standard procedure ? Why can't they do like all other financial institutions and use Experian or whomever to cross check my information ? Or at least accept an electronic copy ?

Are the bank details that you are looking to withdraw to different from those you used to deposit funds with FC?

The page to transfer out funds is greyed out, with a message saying " In order to make a withdrawal from the account, you will need to contact us by phone as there are currently some limits on what you can do online. ".
When I asked them (by mail rather than by phone, actually), I was told the above, to mail some proof of ID / address.
I just checked, the DoB / address / name on the profile details page are correct, and I definitely used my own bank account to transfer in (~6 months ago)

No idea then, sorry. I've been withdrawing funds regularly with no problem. I suggest you email contactus@fundingcircle.com.

The first time I withdrew money from FC they sent an email and asked me to phone them. They just asked a security question (where did you grow up).
It depends on the amount too.

This is something they should have checked before they let you deposit the money. Unless of course they think there has been something going on in your account if you haven't touch it in 6 months. I had to send in my passport when I signed up, I had assumed everyone did. KT

Same here, first withdrawal only a few weeks ago, so if the policy has changed it is fairly recent.

No-one ever asked me anything, and the funds can be withdrawn into any account that is imputed. Very lax security, i.e. none.

Hi all,
Based on your answers, I tried to call (instead of simply emailing as I did initially). The lady on the phone said something about security checks that sometimes fail, but she couldn't tell me any specifics. She said she would trigger again the checks. That was this morning, and tonight I do have the option of transferring out funds, which I just did.
Lesson learnt, I recently opened an Assetz account, I'm making a £1 withdrawal to check that when I need it, it works.
