I don't see any change on mobile? The customisations of the html templates is only available on the web browser rendering of the forum, not on the deprecated proboards mobile version, nor on the tapatalk interface.

And with that, the updates page becomes the most useful page in the forum (used to be very hard to navigate) Thanks, Admin / mrclondon for implementing it And thank you elliotn for the code (never knew you were a coder ) One request on the back of this - any chance "Recent Posts" could be one of the TABs so I don't have to keep going to the home page to navigate to the page?

Hi Mods/Admin, the options you describe for more selectively following threads/posts are helpful, thank you . Where users like to keep track of all new items it's useful to have the board name with the thread title to see if it's something they would like to delve in to deeper. Something that may help with this (possibly depending on your own format/layout?): 1. ADMIN > THEMES > LAYOUT TEMPLATES > POST LIST 2. Insert directly after $[post.thread], on new line: {if $[viewing_recent_posts]} <font size=1>$[post.thread.board.display_name]</font><br />{/if} Nice one elliotn . Any idea whether something similar can be done in the "Participated" threads list? [Admin Note] The participated popup appears not to be a html template, but is entirely driven from the css style sheet - these eight lines define the content of the grid #recent-threads { background: @participated_background; color: @participated_text_color; font: @participated_text_font; } #recent-threads a { color: @participated_links_color; font: @participated_links_font; text-decoration: @participated_links_decoration; } #recent-threads th { border-bottom: 1px solid; } #recent-threads .subject { text-align: @participated_subject_align; } #recent-threads .latest { text-align: @participated_last_post_align; } #recent-threads th, #recent-threads td { border: @participated_inner_border; border-top-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; } #recent-threads tbody tr:hover { color: @participated_hover_text_color; font: @participated_hover_text_font; background: @participated_hover_background; } #recent-threads tbody tr:hover a { color: @participated_hover_links_color; font: @participated_hover_links_font; text-decoration: @participated_hover_links_decoration; }
I'm out of my depth .....

It's a vast improvement for me, since becoming a mod I just about only ever have time to scroll through the recent posts thread, and have got quite confused about where things are or what people are referring to on occasion. So many thanks to elliotn for suggesting/coding it, and for mrclondon for implementing it.

Thanks, I've now implemented this, although to me it seemed more logical for the board name to be displayed above the thread title not below it. More logical but not as practical when scanning. For me, when parsing the recent threads, it is definitely easier with the thread title being first. I then only need to check the board name if further clarification is required. Obviously down to personal preference but see how it goes.

One slight request - any chance "Recent Posts" could be one of the TABs so I don't have to keep going to the home page to navigate to the page? elliotn (or indeed anyone who is familiar with the proboards html templates) We have the following defined in the 'Forum Wrapper' <body> section: <p id="welcome"> {if !$[current_user.is_member]} Welcome Guest. Please $[login_link] or $[register_link]. {else} <span>Welcome $[current_user.name].</span> $[recent_posts_link] $[logout_link] {/if} </p> but it only renders the recent_posts_link on the home page. Any thoughts as to where else that header bar is defined ?

OK, an alternative suggestion has been made, which I've implemented - there should now be a new button on the menu bar between 'Bookmarks' and 'Messages' called 'Recent'.
This approach should mean it is also visible in the (deprecated) proboards mobile app.
(I'll probably remove the existing link to recent posts from next to the logout link in due course)

It would be very useful to be able to see the topic area to which the posts relate after hitting Recent Posts… Thank you Admin/Mods.
