You all seem to like polls here and as we haven't had one recently, and there is nothing of any importance this year coming up.....(vision this.... my tongue firmly lodged in cheek) Here goes.......Marmite (I thought about putting a picture of 2 tattooed fists here, but, no, I'll be good as we lack space....the final front ear) I was brought up on the dark brown stuff as a child and still eat it regularly on toast for supper. Going back to my childhood days, I was hardly ever off school with a cold etc. whilst my mates always seemed to be away. I always thought it so unfair Even now I can't remember the last time I had a cold. I have never had any flu jabs......so does the stuff have magical qualities. Now having yahoogled it I found there are some "experts" labelling it as a superfood because the high levels of niacin give your immune system an enormous boost that could fight the battle against antibiotic-resistant superbugs, such as MRSA. link

My answer would depend on whether I'm allowed to include Twiglets or not.

My answer would depend on whether I'm allowed to include Twiglets or not. Oh b******s!! I thought had been clever and covered all possible answers Yes....they have the lovely stuff on them (top tip: I used to dip them in the butter much to the annoyance of my mum)

Haven't actually tried that. Marmite and tomato sandwiches are nice though. As a kid it was always cheese and Marmite sandwiches (sometimes with an apple). Also Marmite mixed in to mashed potato with my sausages and greens, or Marmitey mash with two fried eggs on top ..... aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!

The ultimate experience is cheese & Marmite toasted sandwiches. Sublime.

Has it got saltier over the years? Used to quite like it when I was a kid, so tried it last year. Jees-too salty for me

In that I'm still alive, and I've eaten some Marmite, I tend to think that's pretty much cast-iron proof of its efficacy. (I am not a scientist).

Hate it, despite working as a consultant on a couple of occasions at their factory in Burton-on-Trent. Best memory was on a bitterly cold day having a meeting inside one of their warm stores.

Jees-too salty for me I would have thought the food industry gods would be asking for a reduction of salt if anything. May be because all other foods have reduced salt content as an ongoing issue over the years your taste has changed to match......I have used it as a salt replacement in stews etc

Love it, as did my mother, but my wife and kids hate it. Anybody tried the Marmite-flavoured chocolate? My wife got me one for my birthday last year.
