It would appear that unless you have the keyboard skills of Superman and know your pancakes from your eccles cakes then forget trying to get an investment via the SM. Anyone got any tips of how to utilise the SM?

I am pleased we still have this liquidity, particularly with the negative press about the rate of sale of houses prior to the european vote. Im sure the farm tranches will reappear soon on the SM.......

Such negative press is IMO only really warranted in the relatively few pockets in London favoured by the very substantial French expat community. The issue is primarily one of concentration risk - its more common to hear French being spoken in such areas than English.

I for one would welcome a slowing in house price growth, even flat prices for five years would be welcome. The more prices inflate now, the larger the risk of a crash in the future. That and I would like my children to be able to afford a house when they grow up.
Oh the SM, wait for a few new loansnto go live, and then there will be a flood of old loans listed on the SM, and you will have a great opportunity to diversify. I for one have £8k of farmland to offload, and a few K in a couple of other loans.

We're already putting money aside to help our boys with houses when the time comes. Ferdy.....The SM was great last week - lot of stuff to buy. Even now, if you're lucky you can get things before they disappear. At 5am this morning I managed to buy a couple of decent sized loan parts (we're in Cyprus so it was 7am for us). If you're really desperate to get stuff, the less popular times of day show a little more lag between things appearing and disappearing. Also, with so much in the pipeline there's bound to be more on offer before too long.

Yep, 5am - 7 am UK time is as great time. Loads of stuff up for sale this morning. I managed to buy into some loans which we were underinvested in, and offload some bits of loans where we had too much. Does this mean that there are other SS investors who live abroad? Or are people waking up at 5am with a desperate urge to put their stuff on the secondary market? Only sad thing: I didn't get out for a walk by the sea this morning - too busy trading.
