What's going on shortly after midnight? It's as if the zombies awake and start selling loans. I have noticed it a few times. Is there something special about 0:00?

Sell after midnight and you get the previous days interest .. tonight I have sold a few bits to free up cash for the two deals funding in the morning,

Ah ok. Why not just sell after you buy the new loans? What can be done with the money in less than one day anyway?

After you get your allocation of the new loans there can be a glut of parts for sale, Big loans < 2m ++ have lots put on the market after allocation so sell quite slowly .
so just after midnight I sell down parts in the bigger loans < 2m+ I hold to cover about 50% of what I expect to pick up in the new stuff .
Then after I get my allocation I can sell some parts of the smaller >2m loans tomorrow as they do sell much faster.

Apart from new loans launching when there is usually increased activity, you frequently see some sales after midnight anyway. Collect the days interest, put your loan part up for sale, and if it sells before 8 a.m you will usually get same day withdrawal. Midnight sales give the greatest chance of being able to do that, although in the dry season it's not necessary to do it quite so early.
