Created account with SS a week ago - just got into some loans on the SM market  Couple of questions 1. I didnt receive the notification emails for the loans going live today .... checked my email prefs and they are all ticked (and got the notifications for the loan parts I bought)... anybody know if there some sort of built in 'delay' to receiving the notification of new loans? 2. I've prefunded both loans and keen to know what I will get. Is there usually a time of day when loans go 'live' or is it a question of the time somebody signs a piece of paper in an office somewhere. |

If its not there contact SS. 2. Loans go live anytime. Just sit and wait.

I'd suggest you email SS and ask them to check you are on the distribution list. I guess there may not be a real-time link between the platform and the mailing list. New loans can go live pretty much any time but are likely to be within office hours (not a hard & fast rule, though!) [crossed with dodgeydave]

Gmail works too, iirc, and is a bit more mainstream.

Hotmail and, to a lesser extent, Yahoo! are the worst offenders at binning mail without telling anybody - either sender or recipient. The amount of times I've watched mail be accepted by their servers, with no indication of any problem, only for the recipient to never get the faintest sniff...

Is there somewhere on the SS website where users set their contact preferences? If so, do you have to specifically opt in to announcement emails in order to receive them?

I'm not getting the new loan mails either. All email preferences ticked, definitely not in my Gmail spam folder...

I think the email preferences might be broken. Mine are set for all mail and have been ever since I joined but although I get notifications of new loans, I put a lot of parts up for sale last night and got neither the "for sale" or the subsequent "sold" messages.
Neither did I get any notification for the refund of PBL087 - I only knew about it when I saw a change in my cash balance.

No problems with my Gmail, launch emails came through fine. I suspect that the loan cancellation email hasnt been sent yet, they havent paid the interest due either, so sending an email which I think usually says they have paid interest would just result in a flurry of where's my interest queries.
