Thanks for all the help on my other newbie thread - two more questions that should be simple for experiencedd SS users but I cant find the answers online..
1. Can one sell PART of a loan part ...if so how? i.e. I have a loan part of £200 but only wish to sell £100 of it on the secondary market
2. When is the monthly interest paid by SS to lenders ..... a particular date?.... monthiversary of account opening? ...monthiversary of taking on a loan part ....etc etc
As always, thanks for any help .....

When you open the sell my loan part box, there is a slider you can move to the amount you want or just overwrite or delete the amount of the loan for the amount you want to sell. You can sell as little as 1 penny to the full loan part amount. You then have to hit a few confirm buttons.
Interest is credited on the first working day of the month backdated to the last day of the preceding month. if you sell a loan part mid month your accrued interest is paid with the rest as described.
I would advise reading the first thread pinned to the top of the Board it contains a wealth of information.

It maybe my poor old fingers, or possibly the effect of the wine, but I find it almost impossible to get the slider to exactly the required amount. Like a petrol pump it will either stop at £99.99 or £100.01 so I now use the manual way.

IIRC, when I entered a number manually in the past, the 'dot' of the slider would move to the appropriate position automatically. For instance, if I had a £200 part and entered £100, the dot would move to the middle of the slider line. Now, it seems to be stuck at the right end of the slider line no matter what I put in the box. I found that to be a useful feature in that it gave visual confirmation that I had entered the number I had intended -- a fat finger missing out a digit or adding in an extra digit was obvious instantly. Is it just me? savingstream: If this was an unintentional change, could we please have this feature back again?

The only confirmation is before you press ok. This gives the amount of money you typed in.

You have to confirm it at the next step so an opportunity to spot any error - not only huge ones.
