It's not my fault... It's @09worrj fault for starting a post that so obviously needed a poll... And besides, there hasn't been a good poll on here for months..... It will be interesting to compare this Poll to a previous one carried out on Jan 2015 here

Youve made the classic polling error, finishing one band with the same amount as the start of the next band and naturally I fall exactly at that point. Awkward me.
So as Brucie would say do I go higher or lower? I could distort the whole outcome. Lend us a penny, gov
I suspect you might have pitched your upper band too low

I suspect you might have pitched your upper band too low Perhaps; to be fair I just copied solicitorious poll figures, but it does seem that there is more big money floating about. However let's see how this one pans out.... besides there will be other days to produce more accurate polls

Id go for bands with smaller amounts up to 100k then have several bigger bands for any BH on the forum.
25k increments in bands covers a large group of people when the intend was to establish average holdings

I wont be reinvesting interest as it will be going elsewhere but as a noble sort I shall sacrifice a penny of interest just to satisfy Dude's polling fetish.

Taking the total SS loan book divided by the number of investors gives an average holding of about £12K. The above poll indicates a much higher figure, maybe £80k - £100K (depends on the unknown in the top band). This suggests that members of this forum - or pedantically those willing to take part in the poll - are much bigger investors than the average.

Your going via the number on the SS website which is "Registered Investors", which included people that only signed up to have a look, and others that did invest in SS, but currently don't. Read this thread here where (via statistics from other P2P platforms) it was concluded that about 40% of "Registered Investors" are in fact active. As such it can be guessitamated that there are currently about 3100 active investors, which gives an average of £32,000.00 per investor.

So, as I write, almost the same number of responses but the amounts invested is much higher. Are they (more or less) the same people who have increased their investments or have smaller investors been replaced by bigger ones? We need a poll to find out dude.

I am quite surprised that there are so many £100,000 plus on the forum
From reading quite a lot of posts on here I though most people on here were investing personally (a few through there own business but spare profits rather then that being the core activity). Also a lot seem to agree that about 5% of investable assets in p2p is about right and not all in one site. So there must be some pretty rich people on here.

Others at the high end may have much more than 5% in p2p - I know I have.
