You can have 99% of your investments in P2P .. as long as you still have the odd few million somewhere safe, and can survive losing the 99% (or having it tied up for ages). I wouldn't, but then I wouldn't gamble much either. 8>.
A quick analysis of loan parts issued in SS loans (before the loophole that let us look got plugged) showed that there were several folks taking £100k+ parts of large loans (one at £200k), and one assumes they have it spread around at least slightly, so they are playing with 7 or 8 figures (to the LEFT of the decimal point!). It doesn't take very many such 'big hitters' to move the mean (average) rather a long way North of the median/mode.

amazing isnt it.. loads of neg feedback from investors on here.. platform collapse, property collapse, stock market collapse, stay vigilant, cetera cetera ... highest poll? 100k+
seems to me that there's a lot of people on here investing fairly heavily, but not sure if they are quite happy to be financially vulnerable.
Personally im at about 20%... and very happy.

I'm very happy with SS; the majority of my posts on this forum demonstrate that, and I have even been accused of being biassed* towards SS However; I'm all too happy to point out any aggrievances I have with the platform. Sometimes it may be seen as negative feedback, but that is not how I see it; I see it as constructive feedback. The platform will develop, and it will develop better by taking in the feedback provided on these forums. My biggest complaint is the communication from SS; I hope that with their new influx of minions employees we will see an increase of comms
Besides that I would give SS a 9/10 .... but I am * overly biassed...

Couldn't agree more.. i love going into the negs about any loan, best provided (from my point of view personally) by you, ilmoro an mrc .. it keeps us on our toes, makes us think twice... is this as good as it looks.. have i missed something... 9 tms out of 10 , i have missed something, but it is always picked up by one of you lot, and that is good for us all... all of you keep up the good work.. its what makes me feel comfortable with my investment amount,

I am quite surprised that there are so many £100,000 plus on the forum
From reading quite a lot of posts on here I though most people on here were investing personally (a few through there own business but spare profits rather then that being the core activity). Also a lot seem to agree that about 5% of investable assets in p2p is about right and not all in one site. So there must be some pretty rich people on here. IMO 5% of investable assets is on the low side. I have waaaay more than that invested, probably more like 50 or 60%. Perhaps we should have a poll to see what percentage of investable assets people have in P2P? Where are you CD?

If you get enough samples you'll finally figure out what everyone is worth. 8>. The %age in P2p (ought to) vary depending on your overall wealth (and income / expenditure) .. from 0% if you have no savings, and your income/expenditure are too close to call, to %whatever you like% (99% is fine) if you're called 'Gates, first name William', or if you happen to own the odd Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund. Assuming all forumites are sane, well balanced people (yeah, I know, I know ..) the assumption has to be that they have enough =safe= assets (and even the safest P2P doesn't really qualify IMO) elsewhere. Having achieved that, the rest is up for grabs .. some will have it sprayed around risky investments of all kinds (VCTs, EIS, P2P, Stocks, Options, Futures, to name but a few), some may have most of it in just one P2P haven ... heck some may have it all on 'Lucky Lad' in the 3:30 at Uttoxeter. As long as it doesn't cause loss of sleep, and as long as they really can survive without it (without needing a sub from the state .. i.e. the rest of us) then good luck to them. 8>.

On FS you can see list of investments and for bonuses people drop £100k not in a platform but in a single loan! I bet some of the same people are in SS.
I feel "safer" putting my £100 next to their £100,000.00 - in case of trouble will be in good company.

There was a bug on the site recently that if you put together the right URL, it let you see the size of all loan parts (rather than just your own and/or just the most recent 10). There are several investors here who are doing £100k+ on single loans too (not me, I hasten to add!)
