Wonder if this is worth a vent... Bloody rubbish fruit... ?? I'm on my jollys and for the 1st time I left my laptop at home and brought this stupid iPad ... Just had a go at a few bits on the SM all works ok right up to the 'you are about to invest bla bla' hit the OK button and nothing, doesn't even go to the 'sorry we could not bla bla ' bit... Don't really want to sit in lobby all afternoon on their laptop.. So looks like no work to do

..... Can't believe I just fell for that Lost 10 open tabs I hate you... I did too. But luckily, I have my options set to warn me if I attempt to close multiple tabs -- I'm using Firefox -- and the warning allowed me to abort without losing my window. There are some distinctly unhelpful people about! Treat it as a warning to not follow random on-line advice without first engaging your brain, and maybe checking what it does. The next time it could be 'open your PC for remote assistance' .. where someone in India 'assists' themselves to everything they can find.

Was midnight any good for anyone or is it tonight when the SM will have easy pickings? Think I will still be dreaming. ?

Midnight was OK, but tonight should be better; investors know they can wait to resolve a negative balance a day later over the weekend, and with the two new loans going live on Saturday there should be a bit of a frenzy at Midnight. Still FFF though

Think I will still be dreaming. ? doubt be any easy picking as most did not get that much and with the last loan being paid back money was probably avaliable, there might be a fair bit of the older ones but I doubt many of the newer ones will be on

Lots of bits of 95 & 96 going thru this morning, but all little bits (and again I'm not fast enough ) Brian

The success at buying on the SM is directly linked to how fast your internet connection is,certainly when loans are few and far between. At home with my 200Mb Virgin I can usually buy something but on my phone when out and about there's no chance.Just takes too long for the various pages to load

Now and again I decide to have a go and see if I can buy something on the secondary market like I did yesterday and I have to say it's always a complete waste of time. It looks to me like you've got to be some sort of company with about 10 high powered superfast computers all open and set to constantly refresh the page with automated click processes going on and the latest mega fast Super fibre broadband connection known to man.
now let me tell you I'm man on his own at home I'm not a company I've only got one phone and one laptop I've got a standard broadband connection and my speed is about 6 megabytes download speed and none of my equipment is very new and state of the art with the fastest processors and I'm not super fast fingers myself but I've not got arthritic fingers but I have reach the conclusion that I am not suitably setup and equip technologically for the secondary market and that's why I rely on the primary market and when yesterday is such a catastrophe it send me into a very disheartened state of mind when I've got all the money sitting there in available funds and I've been with saving stream for a long time and it seems there's no loyalty bonus for good long customers we get shafted by the newbies who come along with the latest technology and learn all the tricks and people like me get swept aside.
I have to say it's a big reason why my amount in saving stream has been constant for ages in there the amount I got invested is steadily going down because as I get paid back it's impossible for me to re invest the same amount so my saving stream is steadily going down and my money thing is steadily going up I got into one in money thing last week at 4 p.m. and it was all gone by about 4:10 I watched the percentage go down. What I liked about that was it was a level playing field everybody could only have 1% and you knew where you stood and no one had an unfair advantage you could not fiddle the figures to get more than your share.

I get it easy at home too, but strangely I have only 1 meg and it's through the telephone line ... But tried a few times on iPad ... Nothing.. Just doesn't work.

Well I got 50meg but that's still faster than most. When it was "only" 20 I did test that it was the full 20 - it was not actually tried it yet on the 50, not actually sure if the wifi can keep up with that? Brian

Oooo wifi.. I bet it's lovely.... My last test showed 0.9 meg, when I do a bit of diversifying on the SM I have to hardware the laptop, wifi is just so slow, OK for basic browsing but a bit of teeth grinding goes on at the same time, I should probably stay hard wired but I like to sit anywhere with laptop so missus always tripping over wire.

MT started up some time after SS and seems to have partially modelled themselves on SS, picking the best bits and avoiding features like INPL which are incredibly difficult to take away once given, but which give rise to the problems you mention. They will likely have to scrap INPL eventually to get full FCA approval which will improve matters and they can deflect the flak onto the FCA.

I leave home fairly early in the morning, and often have a quick look B4 I leave, not much about at that time, but what is tends to not disappear so quick. don't often get chance to wait until after midnight (usually well asleep by then) but that's when the best bits are available. I would probably be better off using the Tower, as it's wired internet, but end up with the Laptop (on WiFi) 4 convenience. often end up buying lots of shrapnel to make up what i want but patience pays off, - just wish I could consolidate it, when reducing a holding it's a pain selling off the bits instead of one larger lump, but hey ho. Not tried MT, but may have a nose in due course, I'm currently up to my limit in SS, got a bit more to go on AC, reducing a couple of others so will need another one soon-ish Brian

And usually I'm pretty wary of following any suggestions/advice that comes from unknown sources. In this case I thought I could trust the source because they have been on the forum for over two years and have collected a fair number of 'likes' over that time. I suppose I should know better -- you can't trust anyone on the internet. Unfortunate state of affairs, but that's the way it is, I guess.
