Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone can help. We are trying to run some analysis to check how Zopa's borrower rate relates to the lender rate over time. The Borrower rate is kept in Zopa's loan book so I have this data set, however I cannot find the Zopa lender rate anywhere.
Wondering if anyone has kept a record of this? Considering using the Wayback time machine to review the old web pages but I'd prefer if I had a more accurate dataset.
Thanks,
Iain

Hi How far back were you hoping to go? I don't have Zopa's official lending rates, but I do have average rates for my own loan book. This is mostly for 5-year loans. Cheers.

Hey, We're hoping to get Zopa data all the way back to the beginning so 2005/2006. The plan is to compare this data against the weighted average borrower rate so we can show the differential between lender rates and borrower rates. Ultimately we are trying to compare the risk of different platforms and felt comparing the lender/borrower differential against the default rate was good start. The average rates of your loan book would also be interesting, especially if we can get a hold of the official Zopa lender rates. This way we can demonstrate the accuracy of Zopa's lending rate forecasts. Are you able to send this data across to me? It would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Iain

Until a couple of years ago lenders set their own rates, and there was wide variation even within a day, as experienced lenders waited until there was a shortage of funds before offering their own. I still have a few loans with double-digit rates from the good old days!

Hello,
This is Iain from Orca. I conducted the analysis on the Zopa loan book.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the this blog/ analysis? It would be good to get some feedback, particularly if there are stats that you feel we are missing or perhaps not relevant.
I'm going to work through the RateSetter and Funding Circle loan book as well. Any thoughts would be really appreciated.
Thanks, Iain
