Yes. They still owe me a penny!! Let us know what they say please. Will do - but it might take a while. Every single email I've sent over the past 6 months has had the automatic reply 'we will respond within 2 days', only to get another email 2 days later 'due to unforeseen volumes of requests, we have not been able to respond but will as soon as possible'. I'm wondering how unforeseen it can be, when it's been an issue for such a long time - or maybe I'm on a blacklist somewhere! jm72 Have FC explained why they have refunded £19.99 yet, or shall sharpen my claws?

Me too. Two pennies here to be precise. Shall I get the vitriol warmed up?

I got a reply yesterday - the technical team is aware of the issue and will fix it to pay out the remaining 1p. Wouldn't hold your breath. I just can't see how you can mis-pay by 1p. There is another thread on this forum about FC Accounting which says there is an issue on rounding - maybe this is it?

14 May 2014 We understand that an IVA proposed by the guarantor has been rejected and independent Insolvency practitioners have now accepted the appoint as joint trustees over the bankrupt's estate.

Wot, no 24p in the pound over 5 years?!? FC really should have shut this down when they found out about the criminal conviction, and when it was apparent the borrower had cheerfully lied about making the second payment.

Did anyone confirm that they get their last few pennies refunded by FC over the premature collapse of Wine Merchant 5034? My account seems to be 2p short according to the usual calculations. Not quite the money leak that many have seen, but I am puzzled. My mother always told me to look after the pennies (etc)

Not quite the money leak that many have seen, but I am puzzled. My mother always told me to look after the pennies (etc) I got mine back, it appeared NOT AS A RECOVERY but as a manual fiddle to the statement :- 2014-05-12 000000L******nnnnnn (your account number goes here!) £0.0pennies There is a comment to this effect, twice, on the loan. If you haven't had yours yet, then maybe they only gave the money back to people that complained about it. Either way, I still would love to see the explanation as to how £20.00 becomes £19.99 due to a rounding error!

Thanks mikeb, yes I did manage to find that transaction for 2p now. So, it must be some other kind of "rounding error" in my case!

Interestingly, the extra couple of pence come through as a deposit rather than income / profit - not sure what the tax implications of this is, but doubt anyone was far enough out for it to make a difference.

"Our negotiations with guarantor remain ongoing. However, we are confident that we will reach an agreement that is both affordable and fair for the guarantor and investors. We will update lenders in due course." So said FC not long ago. Today he was banned from holding office in any company for 5 years by the Official Receiver. So what do you feel about the way that FC handled the whole thing? As far as I am concerned their actions on this loan from start to finish beggar belief. I know that many would like to see FC fully refund all those that put money in this loan.

See what they say. If no luck then we could all try it.

I tried that and more at the time but got no reply. I believe this is because they did virtually no DD at all and were caught out when everything started to come to light.
However I have not given up yet and have something in the wind that should stir up the issue and bring it more into the public view.
Watch this space.

It would be fascinating to hear from Futile Constipation which parts of their actions since this loan was initiated (including approving the loan in the first place, with criminal involvement of the company already public knowledge) have been fair to the investors.

If they lost £10m last year I guess another £100k won't make a lot of difference.

Today he was banned from holding office in any company for 5 years by the Official Receiver. Where did you manage to find that little gem (local news? I vaguely recall you live near there?). Any more info -- presumably there was some reason for this, mere galloping incompetence doesn't usually get you banned .. even moderate dodginess usually goes unpunished (at least by my standards of punishment).
