"Only FC have a clue as to what will happen"
Well that's comforting, then!
Don't worry, Grumpy, they do not have much more of a clue than we do. Or is that the worry? Considering illiquid markets and investor risk, as we were, one of the C- loans which I was trying to sell in the last month, after reaching its time limit, has gone into the fourth day of processing. If it goes bad it will damage my account as a direct result of the illiquid market. (If it pays up there will be a generous discount, cash plus many bananas).

That's exactly my point. Bit like a variation of Russian roulette I guess.
EDIT Of course as in most things in life there is another side to this coin. If you happen to be building a portfolio the secondary market would appear to be the place to go right now. Earlier today I set about building a phantom portfolio, largely using my own rules and avoiding A+ and C- loans. I came up with a nice collection of loan parts to a value of £2k and a gross return of about 11.6% for an average cost of about 1.2%. So as I said there is always two sides to a coin!
