Would still of course have to find a way to call a GC without a NC vote ilmoro .. OK, I give up .. what are GC and NC in this context? (There can't be many more than a couple of dozen uses for those acronyms).

How did Labour get so divided? Sad state of affairs.

Labour divided.
Milliband junior decided that the nasty Unions were too powerful so re-wrote the voting rights so anyone who has £5 he doesn't need can vote. Hence many of the voters for Labour are not members of the Labour party. There are now three sections to the voters, the labour party, the trade unions and every socialist (and a few Tory) crazies in the country....

How did Labour get so divided? Sad state of affairs. They held a referendum to decide on their leader? And all the Corbyn enthusiasts say "But 250,000 people voted for him!" Yes, they did. And in 2010, 560,000 voted BNP.

I don't think he should resign but he should immediately call a leadership contest and run in it. Government need to be held to account like never before and both parties are a complete shambles right now - 2 leadership contests followed by a GE is the only sensible course - followed by a new negotiation with EU followed by a referendum on terms of a deal negotiated or not negotiated as the case may be Hang on, a week ago you were saying that MPs should decide on EU not the public through a referendum. Now your saying MPs shouldnt decide on Jezza but ir should be a public (ie Labour members) vote. Inconsistency a MP would be proud of BoJo has reportedly said he wouldnt call a General Election as he would have mandate to negotiate from referendum result. Would still of course have to find a way to call a General Election without a No Confidence vote (not a good basis to win an election) or MPs voting themselves out of office - both seem unlikely - particularly in the case of Labour MPs many of whom might find they dont get to stand again if Momentum gets its way or would have to stand as independents/new Labour if party splits. I do not think it is inconsistent to believe public should elect politicians and that those politicians should then make the tough, important decisions on which they are largely agreed

Labour leader (still) Jeremy Corbyn is reputedly lining up his post-Westminster career in celebrity brand endorsements (superglue ads with the slogan - “Nothing sticks tighter than Jezza”).
