Right before I'm shot down in flames I'm not a great fan of football, but in light of England's pathetic defeat I thought it was worthy of you football "experts" to discuss.
I think this sport needs a bloody good sort out, here are some of my ideas
I don't know, but I guess because Ladies football is relatively new, it has not been infiltrated by a lot of foreign players yet. I have seen a couple of ladies international games and found them far more entertaining than the men's games. Would I be right in saying they are more successful internationally?
There are far too many foreign players here. How about ALL clubs had to use home bred players only. At a national level it would give selectors a much bigger choice and should improve our standings. Would it not follow that all levels would improve as there would be more places available for younger players.
Ok you can get yer guns out now!

I'm very disappointed. We need somebody not afraid to do what they want rather than being politically correct with the FA.
Women's football is coming on leaps and bounds but the majority of countries don't have a large female population that play, it's like Cricket globally in many ways - not fair to compare.
We need to see players playing with passion, but more importantly knowing one another's game inside out. We should have an England team that plays in the domestic league, there is enough money in the game to pay for the team. It is very complicated but the national game is losing appeal, something drastic needs to happen due to the amount of foreign players in our league and our better players not tending to know one anothers games. England United entering the EPL with a transfer budget of £1 billion should do it.
We will also see how badly these players want to represent their country as well.
The best teams tend to have the core of their squads playing for the same club team.
Just an idea off the top of my head.

The country voted out. The team delivered.

Usual story, overpaid underachievers.
A bit like our politicians come to think of it.

If you're a football supporting member of the labour party with a big portfolio of stocks and shares, today is probably a day you could do without.

Blimey, so far I haven't suffered even a flesh wound. I was expecting far more passion and radical ideas, perhaps the fans just don't care any more, or, haven't finished crying in their beer yet!!........at the end of the day

No doubt some people will choose to read racism into this opinion but if you care to put your pre conceived ideas to one side you will see the logic behind my comment.
There are too many overseas players in the Premier League and possibly the Championship which is fine insofar as it allows spectators to see top flight players but does help the development of home grown talent which in turn feeds in to the lack lustre results of England teams.
I’m not advocating a complete ban but I believe that there should be a restriction on the number of overseas players per club and more emphasis on developing talented youngsters who are eligible to play for England by advancing their skills through playing at the top level of the domestic game.

How many premier league players are qualified (by nationality) to be in the England team?
Surely it isn't so much individual talent that is lacking but their ability to perform as a team?
Playing alongside foreign stars must be good for those so fortunate?
I know next to nothing about football, hence the questions, so go gently please.

They have, in effect, just paid for me to convert one of the barns into a 3 bed cottage.
