I thought everyone got £77 in this loan, reading replies on here I'm guessing not?
When playing the system was mentioned, I just assumed it was some dodgy way of getting a larger share, I wouldn't say asking for a bigger chunk of a loan then you really want is immoral, I just didn't think it was that simple.
I set my pre-funding at £100 and got £77, if I set it at £200 would I of got £144?

Gaming the system is simply trying to second guess the allocation. If you think the allocation on an upcoming loan is going to be 50%, and you want £100, you would pre-fund £200. Not so easy now you have to keep all new investments for 7 days (whilst in negative balance) .

The loan amount avaliable is divided by the total amount prefunded to get the % & then everybody gets that % of their prefund. Have you read the FAQ at the top of this board or accessed via the link in my signature, might be worth a read if your new. This is where the gaming comes in. If you want £5000 & you guess the loan will be over subscribed by a factor of 2 you would prefund for £10k.

Playing the system or gaming isn't as dodgy as I 1st expected, infact id say it's quite clever.
I've learnt something new on this post.
Thanks for all the replies guys, I have read them all.

Just don't get bitten by the Wolf tomorrow - double/treble up your pre-fund and you may well get 100%. then have to pay up! (We don't know how much will be rolled over, or how little will be pre-funded as a result I'm sticking with what I've got, then might see what's left over. I can report that a lot of work is going on at the site, with a whole new side smothered with scaffolding last week).

PBL135 - block A - is going live tomorrow, just shy of £2m. On top of DFL003 and PBL085, this is one too far for me, I think.

I see that it's 6 month loan, while there's still 6 months outstanding on PBL085, so there's not even the justification of swapping a short term loan for a longer term loan to lock in the interest rate. These, and the upcoming Cardiff loan, are cross-collateralised, so if I understand correctly these are all effectively a single facility. Perhaps one for the big hitters (and newbies who missed out on taking a position on PBL085/DFL003). [While I think these among the best quality loans on SS nearly 30% of my SS portfolio is with this borrower, so perhaps investing in this one would be a concentration too far.]

The three loans are for three different blocks - 135 will be for A, DFL3 is for B, 85 is for C.

DFL003 - Recent meeting with Borrower and Block B is on hold until Block C is finalised/ remortgaged/ sold
From the latest update, is this a knock on effect worth worrying about or are these student accomodation loans generally considered as solid options ?

Yep, what with unannounced equity charges and extensive p2p leverage, the SD loans to be added to upper middle of the 'monitoring closely' list, just got a piece of Cardiff left now.

I passed by the site a few days ago and saw that Block B (the center one on the plan) looked complete externally, although no doubt still being fitted out internally. Work seems to have started on Block A - see photo. Block C (nearest the College) is clear, but no building work has been started. Should I be selling?
