Existing thread here, including Rep postings. Parent company's latest RNS wasnt great & shares tanked. Rates arent great but buyback looks interesting. Here's another thats just launched octopuschoice.com. Starting to see financial firms entering the market.

I've had a little toedip in both (thanks for the link ilmoro it pricked my curiosity as my IFA has previously passed a few other octopus brochures my way, but so far gets very "couldn't possibly comment" where p2p is concerned) Both seem like potentially very nice and boring fire and forgets. Not sure I have a real feel yet as to how the risk/rewards compare to other platforms with similar rates, but so far both pay out when they say they will and answer questions quickly.

Hi I am quite new to P2P and came across their site. My true test is can you actually call these people on the phone and I tend to then get a feel for them as a company that way. I started on SS which seems pretty good but we will see how it goes. I also wanted something that was lower risk and this is the only site I have come across which offers a guarantee. How it works I have no idea but I spoke to a gentleman their who said that if a loan went bad my initial capital invested would be safe albeit I would not get any of the interest. To be honest though if that's all I would lose I would be happy. They seem really nice and pick up the phone when you call so thats good. Site seems pretty easy to navigate so that's quite good also. They don't tell you where the money get's lent to so that's a bit of a concern although they said it's being worked on.
I think I may take a punt with a small investment because they are running a £20 offer at the moment so why not. I will let you know how I get on with them.
Thanks
JJ

The forum staff believe that jjp2p is a member of staff at "Orchard Lending Club" and posted without requesting their account be flagged as a "Representative of Orchard Lending Club" contrary to forum rules. We asked orchardlc to confirm this forum account belongs to a member of their staff last Friday but we have not had a response. In the meantime, it would only seem fair to alert forum members to the probable connection, whilst further investigations are conducted.

I'm suspicious but for a different reason.
jjp2p is a known malware which can infect computers. It is a strange nickname to choose, therefore. His post above is not fully literate, and not what I would expect from the representative of a professional platform.

Hello all,
This was not part of any marketing or promotion effort from Orchard Lending Club, however the user did belong to one of our sister companies. We have briefed our staff on how to behave online to avoid any further such instances in the future. We appreciate the feedback and support provided here, and apologise for the confusion caused.
Thank you, OLC.
