I am sure that most SS investors will agree that local informed knowledge shared on this forum would be greatly welcomed, and so I am wondering if individuals local to sites or with credible knowledge of borrowers would be willing to share this when new potential appear in the Pipeline.
There are two SS loans fairly local to me which I wouldn't have facilitated due the the long adverse history of the borrowers. One of these loans is currently in high negative days (and also, in my opinion, in negative equity) and the other is heading that way. I haven't placed funds in either of these loans, not even overnight, which has been tempting on occasion.
I am a big fan of SS and so don't wish to give them a hard time, however, a higher level of due diligence is called for, particularly as they are lending other peoples money.

Would you like to give us the pbl numbers of these loans? I do agree that local knowledge is very useful. As long as the information is disclosed within forum rules, the mods do not have s problem.

I do agree that local knowledge is very useful. As long as the information is disclosed within forum rules, the mods do not have s problem. That's right, indeed, some mods have been known to post something along the lines of "... I used to work / live near / walk past etc....". Local knowledge is indeed very useful, and to be welcomed, as long as it adheres to the forum rules.

/mod hat off
Well I walk past PBL065 every month or so, and can confirm it existed (and has now been turned into a rather flat hole in the ground). At one point it made the local press when some tea-leaves tries to make off with some of the metalwork which had been dis-assembled, but they got caught rather quickly (it's that sort of county. 8>.).
Can't do a site photo as there is a fence around the site, and no adjacent high buildings, nor can I value it, or comment on the ethics of the borrower(s), but to me it seemed like a reasonable bet .. nearly everything else round there has long since turned into housing (and sold) - just a pity the main road runs past the site (but then that is true of most of that town!), and there is still industrial stuff ('next in line'?) between it and the station (which is within walking distance, even for an arthritic snail). Hmm, I'd like to buy some more, but I'm not helping my cause any ... Ok then, let me go and invent something more downbeat. 8>.

i know this site well and I could tell you that it is badly contaminated, there is near surface historic mining activity and is home to a rare variety of some sort of wildlife that cannot be disturbed. Also astronomers are predicting that it will be struck by a substantial meteorite later this year.
If that frightens any holders to sell their parts please tip me off so I can snap them up.
