I'm just watching the opening ceremony, and so far, I don't understand any of it. Mind you, I didn't understand the start of the London games either  . Here's hoping we see fair play, a lot of joy, and... human brilliance . (Mo, Jessica, it's you I'm looking at. Oh yeah, and you Usain. And even better, the people I haven't seen anything of or heard of  ). |

I'm waiting on the the Pokemon. More seriously, Giselle just won the Olympics. More seriously still Pink Floyd already won everything, so what's to worry about . |

Pissing it down in Brazil, so naturally the Brits have started winning medals by the umbrella load Its seems once the rain starts our ability to fall into a murky pond in an acrobatic way is second to none, as is our skill at navigating a plank in a tumble dryer. |

You forgot nearly managing to smack down one of the best female fighters on the planet, and indoors at that! I'm also looking forwards to seeing Nicola Adams fight, she's ace. Apparently the men haven't done so well (though I saw one of Joshua Buatsi's fights a day or so ago and he looked pretty tasty).

As a boxing enthusiast (and previous amateur boxer myself) I have a problem with (men's) amateur boxing; it is no longer amateur. It's simply prizefighter now  . I may be the saddest man in England; I am slightly hooked on the Olympics. Watching Joe Clarke post his table-topping time and then me hoping the remaining competitors capsize was, in hindsight, not something I am proud of... That being said, I hoped for similar fates for the Chinese divers and the competing gymnast... ... my morality might be at an all-time low at the end of these Olympics

I must admit to resuming my old habit of shouting at the TV today - brilliant cycling, and two of my pin-ups, the lovely and truly sporting Jessica and Katarina; I've been bellowing at both of them ...and those astonishing gymnasts this week, men and girls! |

I'm quietly hopeful that we might be going for gold and silver in the heptathlon. Our girls are amazing . Jess Ennis is obviously a star, but I hope that Katerina Johnson-Thompson can come out from under Jess' shadow, believe in herself (her high jump was amazing!, but then so was Jess'), and that the two of them can drive each other to success . |
