That's not even a proper beer, a pale ale at 4.1% would be described as like "making love in a punt" where I come from. Rocks my boat

That's not even a proper beer, a pale ale at 4.1% would be described as like "making love in a punt" where I come from. It’s the taste and the quality that makes good ale not just the strength but if ABV is the benchmark try this for a pale ale: www.kirkstallbrewerycompany.com/portfolio/generous-george/And it’s a damned good beer! I was only teasing! I think we have discovered a new North South Divide.......all beers you lot favour appear to be light coloured IPAs.......where as all my Southern mates prefer amber coloured bitters. There is a Yorkshireman in my "gang" who also prefers IPAs..........I have tasted loads of IPAs and I have never tasted one that I like.........one pub we go to has 1 house ale (nothing special), but 3 guest ale pumps which all change at least once every 2 weeks......in fact I can't remember ever having the same ale twice.........when we go as we all have different tastes we end up buying all the beers on tap.....we all taste each beer and may swap them around.......so you will see it isn't that I haven't tried IPAs.....I just don't like 'em
