I was browsing CH and come across this... beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10166623Doesn't seem to be connected to our "Lendy Ltd", but surely more than a coincidence that it shares the same name as the old T/A name of "Lendy Ltd" (believe it or not, the old Lendy Marina site still has stuff on it). I wonder if somebody is trying to use Lendy's name... maybe deceptively (or worse...) Maybe just a coincidence, but something savingstream might want to look into.

Wasn't it (isn't it?) something to do with SS's previous / first incarnation as a lender to the yachting fraternity?

May 2016), and the director has no obvious connection to Lendy Ltd and no other signs that it is connected to Lendy (such as the address). There is also no sign of this "Lendy Marine Ltd" online, other than the CH listing.

Well it will be interesting to see what SS has to say about Lendy Marine. It seems to be trading from the old Lendy address in Cows, IOW. Perhaps they see demand in the boat loan business and want to get back in?

Given that Lendy Ltd has taken the name of a previously dissolved company (the only exception being the full word Limited as to the current company's abbreviation Ltd) I don't think too much can be read into this. The Director of Lendy Marine Limited has had 12 other appointments, some of them active and some in dissolved companies, and with the words Cash, Asset, *****(the name of a "payday lender") in the company name so it appears it could just be a convenient name to use in his habitual activities.

My OP is in regards to the recently set up "Lendy Marine Ltd" a company that has nothing to do with Lendy Ltd (as far as I can see), but has blatantly used their old T/A name (Lendy Marine). The link was in my OP, but I have also put below... beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10166623

Can there be two companies using the same name?
I had a look at your link. A search for lendy produces 4 companies which use the word lendy in their name.

Somebody far more qualified than me will be able to answer your first question; my thought is that the company has been set up with the exact name that Lendy used to trade as (i.e. Lendy Marine). 2 of those 4 companies are to do with Lendy Ltd (Lendy Ltd & Lendy Provision Reserve Ltd) the other is Dissolved and the last is the one I refer to. Like I said, my interest is the fact they have used "Lendy Marine", which seems a tad specific.

Willy Wonga Limited also seems to have the same director. Should Wonga also be concerned?
