I am fairly new to FC and when I usually check the SM there are rarely any parts on offer at par (0% discount). This morning was a whole different situation. There were numerous parts available (at par) for a whole load of decent looking loans. They got bought pretty quickly and l helped myself to quite a few. Does this happen on a regular basis (it is the first time I have noticed it happening)? Is this likely the result of someone hitting autosell to free up some funds and dumping a whole load of parts on the SM in one go?

I don't tend to notice whether they are at par - just the headline percentage - but there did seem more this morning worth clicking on. Its been pretty thin in recent weeks for sure on FC (and elsewhere) Jack P

Its quite common for people to buy loan parts, quite often by the hundred, then off-load them at 0.3% or at PAR after a few months. When I sold all mine off I listed them all at 0.5%, then at 0.3% and then as a last resort at PAR, at which point, all I had left to sell were gone nearly as fast as I could list them.

Particularly if there is nothing on the primary market (which is basically the case at the moment). A good time to offload old loan parts onto autobiddies..........

There seems to be a couple of ok loans (incl some property) which has just been listed at par - I wonder if someone had been having a cleanout?

Offloading at a time like this seems like a good idea, however all I'm left with are a load of defaults, some of which have been written off. I had so many SME defaults that 2 years ago I decided to only opt for short term property loans thinking they would be more secure but I'm sitting on 3 defaults there so I'm out. One A+ from the first 6 months of FC launching is still repaying in dribs and drabs. I might not live to see it fully repaid.

I only buy batches of C and D loans. Sell them at par a day before the third payment due and they go almost instantly. No losses yet, not very time consuming and a healthy return.

According to the loan book, no property loans have defaulted - which ones are you in that have? (several are late)

Sorry, I should have said "Late". At this level of risk I might as well be getting 12% elsewhere.

I suppose that strictly some have defaulted in that they have met the criteria for a default - not paying a long time after due. But the have not been defaulted. They are only going to default a loan when losses are a serious risk and recoveries are a better route.

Probable glut in same situation after the report in the Sunday Txxxs about increased losses company has posted. Put down to being in expansion phase the fy. Time will tell if the plan to go global can hopefully be acheived before the cash runs out.
